I’m so glad Beardy is not on the July 🚢. That would really turn it into a bit of a damp squib for me. Still, at least it publicly accounts for some of his 179 days I suppose. And why not hey?! If we could all pay zero income tax by spending more than 186 days out of the U.K. and buying our own island I’m sure many of us would. Just not that practical for nurses or teachers or cleaners etc. And I’d probably end up having to spend more time with the missus. Which is something my tax money to HMRC is definitely worth paying. Priceless even.

Its all about relativity. I suspect there are many out there would say, “off on a weeks cruising in the med….And why not hey ?! just not all that practical for nurse or teachers or cleaners etc”

I can never remember this, I suspect it’s because it’s a complicated answer… do BA Gold members have any status benefits recognised on an Aer Lingus flight booked direct? Or through BA?

  • Novice says:

My ihg points expiry date is fast approaching so if I buy points, does it extend the entire points pot?

  • jjoohhnn says:

Did Virgin actually say that he would be there for the whole cruise? It might just be a one night appearance kind of thing.

Knowing Richard and his daily rate, I consider it very likely ….

Timely opportunity to top up our stash of IHG points. We pay for rooms with a mixture of points and money as we just don’t earn enough like the HFP big guns to pay all points. Funds coming courtesy of seemingly perpetually travelling sideways share dividends.

I can get 15 000 + 15 000 bonus which cost $172.50 (roughly £135, according to H-L currency). I make that 0.45p per point, which is not so attractive.
    Ah, I see that I have to buy at least 26 000 + 26 000 to get the 0.39p price (for ~£203.52).
    Need to think about it…

  • S says:

IHG offer is tempting… looking at the Regent Phu Quoc I reckon I can save almost 900 quid for my dates using points.. about 0.6p achievable. Not being able to get there direct from SIN, however, is a royal PIA!

  • Yorkshire rich says:

Cheers Rob for this. I saw your comment the other week regarding the possibility of IHG offering 100% points purchase soon. I’ve just booked Intercontinental Sydney for January for 4 nights. I may change if something else crops up or the points decrease but least I’ve locked something in now. Thanks
