Hilton opens a Canopy hotel in Cannes

Cannes has a few good redemption hotels. Marriott has a JW Marriott on the seafront, Hyatt has the Martinez and IHG – as well as the Carlton – is opening a cheaper Staybridge Suites in November.

Hilton had nothing at all, so the opening of a brand new Canopy hotel by the port is welcome. It is apparently on the site of the old Radisson Blu hotel.

We’ve reviewed a few Canopy hotels recently – Canopy San Francisco was reviewed last week and we’ve also reviewed Canopy Austin and Canopy London City. It’s my favourite Hilton midscale brand, I think.

Canopy Cannes hotel

To quote:

With an unbeatable address, moments away from the port, Canopy by Hilton Cannes exemplifies the city’s relaxed chic in its design. The hotel features 129 guest rooms and suites, along with a further 12 apartments, most of which offer impressive views over the old harbour, La Croisette and the Lérins Islands. In collaboration with a prestigious jury of art experts and private collectors across the world, the hotel has invited twelve talented young artists to create unique artwork for each room. Contemporary artwork is complemented by Canopy by Hilton’s sophisticated comfort, including the brand’s signature canopy bed frame, exclusive bedding created just for Canopy by Hilton and thoughtful amenities like Canopy socks and Nespresso machines.

Canopy by Hilton Cannes features an indoor-outdoor heated swimming pool overlooking the sea and a fitness centre is accessible every day. Opening soon, the hotel will offer an indulgent spa, including five cabins, a hammam, a Japanese bath and sauna, where guests can revitalise and re-energise with a selection of face and body treatments.

This is good timing for me, as I am in Cannes in a fortnight to see IHG’s new luxurious Regent hotel, formerly InterContinental The Carlton Cannes. I will pop my head into the lobby of the Canopy whilst I’m there.

That explains why there’s not a single review on tripadvisor for the Canopy Cannes yet, so decided to stay in Mandelieu-la-Napoule instead. Look forward to your Regent hotel review. Thanks Mikel for the tip on the petit train tour, will give that a try.
