Crowne Plaza Lille hotel to join Hilton next month

If you’ve ever taken the Eurostar to Lille, you have probably seen the Crowne Plaza hotel which sits above the station.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times – admittedly not for a while now – and liked it, especially the bronze tiling in the bathrooms which mirrors the bronze cladding on the exterior. Whilst it’s not directly in the centre of Lille, it is a sensible place to stay if travelling by Eurostar.

Hilton Lille hotel

The hotel is switching brands on 1st November and will become Hilton Lillesee the website here.

The message at the top of the home page implies that it may trade as ‘Hotel Lille Euralille’ for a period whilst it adopts to Hilton standards, although it seems that Hilton Honors benefits will be respected and points earned.

It remains bookable on the IHG website as a Crowne Plaza until 30th October. IHG retains a Holiday Inn Express in the city centre, which is – at weekends – more expensive than the Crowne Plaza.

Rob, any news on next Amex Plat sign up bonus uplift?

  • polly says:

If fares are softening, as evidenced by QR offering cash back… maybe we are due a proper QR J sale from Europe..
But actually, if we book separately from U.K. to Asia, the £300 off 2k is not bad. But fares are still quite high from the U.K.
Maybe Saudia will kick in with a LH sale soonish. Don’t need the booze.

    • dundj says:

There have been some really decent fares out of MAN recently on Saudia. Almost plumped for one to MRU a couple of weeks back which came to circa £1,400 per person in J.

      • polly says:

Tnx, that’s interesting, without having to position into Europe

  • RussellH says:

Interesting news about the CP Lille. Nice hotel, perfect location as far as we are concerned.
For us this should be a bonus, as we have both lost all meaningful status with IHG since the Creation card went, while we both have decent status with Hilton.

  • Bach says:

I have a reward night booked at the end of December at Crowne Plaza Lille, will this be cancelled or will the booking be honoured?
I have Hilton gold status, would i benefit from it having booked via IHG but staying at Hilton?

    • Rob says:

It’s likely to be cancelled unfortunately.

      • drdan says:

And don’t expect IHG to sort you out any other room/do you any favours…

I would book a back up room asap if you have the points.

  • Rob says:

Likely to have hit its registration target.

  • Raja says:

Does anyone know if you get the £300 off if you book the Qatar airways holiday package or does it have to flights only?
