Radisson Rewards launches a rare hotel bonus points promotion

Radisson Rewards has launched what I think is its first ‘multi stay’ bonus points promotion since 2022.

A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. The North American arm of Radisson was bought by Choice Hotels and removed from the Radisson Rewards programme, and the ‘rest of the world’ rump underwent a ludicrous ‘no notice’ devaluation.

The value of a point dropped from roughly 0.33p (and far more on a good day) to a fixed cash discount of 0.15p to 0.2p per point redeemed.

Radisson Rewards launches a rare bonus points promotion

I can’t begin to imagine what life must be like if you work for Radisson now. You have hotels in North America which carry your brands but are no longer part of your business, and you’ve alienated the most loyal of your non-Americas guests via the worst overnight devaluation ever seen. No wonder Radisson Edwardian just sold the bulk of its hotels, with the new buyer planning to rebrand them.

Anyway, if you are still making occasional Radisson stays, you can pick up some bonus points – although they aren’t worth much.

The promotion runs until 26th March.

You can register here. Importantly, bookings made before registration do not count.

You receive:

  • 500 bonus points on your first stay (worth £1!)
  • 3,000 bonus points on your second stay (worth £6)
  • 3,500 bonus points on your third stay (worth £7)

There is no minimum stay requirement, which is arguably the one saving grace.

You can find out more, and register, on the Radisson Hotels website here.

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Premium status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.
