With Easter out of the way and thoughts of summer breaks coming to the fore, I thought it was worth another look at the new routes that British Airways will fly from London Stansted in 2024.
There was a flurry of coverage about this news when it was announced late last year, because it was so unexpected, but I think most people have forgotten that it was coming.
This is very much a ‘toe in the water’ for now as you will see.

Where will British Airways fly from Stansted?
BA will launch three routes for summer 2024:
- Florence
- Ibiza
- Nice
All three routes will be operated by BA Cityflyer and will commence on 18th May.
Flight times are as following (note that these times have moved slightly since the initial announcement):
Florence
- On Sundays, BA7017 departs Stansted at 07.50 and arrives in Florence at 11.05
- On Saturdays, BA7016 departs Florence at 16.15 and arrives in Stansted at 17.30

Ibiza
- On Sundays, BA7309 departs Stansted at 16.05 and arrives in Ibiza at 19.30
- On Saturdays, BA7308 departs Ibiza at 12.00 and arrives in Stansted at 13.30
Nice
- On Sundays, BA2333 departs Stansted at 08.35 and arrives in Nice at 11.30
- On Saturdays, BA2332 departs Nice at 11.20 and arrives in Stansted at 12.20
Flights will be on Embraer 190 aircraft. These have 2×2 seating in both Club Europe and Euro Traveller.
Unlike Cityflyer flights from London City, there IS a lounge at Stansted – the Escape lounge. It’s pretty poor and usually heaving, although the upcoming Emirates lounge will relieve a lot of the pressure on it. Our last review of the Escape lounge at Stansted is here.
