Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Important dates for your diary – offers about to close which you shouldn’t miss (April ’24)

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The aim of this feature is to summarise flight, hotel and points offers that are ending soon.  Everything listed below has been covered on HfP in recent weeks, but years of experience of running offers for HfP readers has made it very clear that a large proportion like to leave things to the last minute ….

It pulls together the different deals mentioned in our daily articles and on our Top Avios Points Earning Offers, Top Hotel Bonus Points Offers and Top UK Credit Card Offers pages.

I doubt there will be much value at Premier Inn Torquay. Post-covid it seems to have forgot it’s supposed to be a budget chain if rates in Scotland are anything to go by. Rates are now typically double to 4x what they were pre-pandemic at the ones I tended to use. I’m also curious what readers think of their 28-day cancellation rate, I just don’t get it and consider it the stupidest rate in the industry.

    • ChrisBCN says:

It’s almost like the UK has had a bout of high and sustained inflation….

      • Geoff says:

Increasing prices well above inflation, can’t be blamed on inflation (eg the company I work for has done this and then wonders why they’ve lost business)

        • Gordon says:

This has been my bugbear, covid was bad, but post covid, everybody raising their prices, and getting on the bandwagon is frustrating.
          People are not stupid!

        • ChrisBCN says:

          Don’t forget that inflation compounds…

          • Gordon says:

Well, I look forward to supply and demand being bought back into equilibrium!

    • Gordon says:

@BJ- Yes strange one, agree that their prices have risen significantly post covid, but there are still good options for them if you look, That’s an advance booking rate, that seems to be applied to bookings that are made any further out than about two months, They also have options of, Flex- free cancellation up to 1pm on day of arrival, they also have standard – can rebook same hotel at a different date.

I used this rate at LHR bath road just after covid, as there were still issues with many travel cancellations and it worked well, as I will always use the Bath road property, so just rebook for an alternative date.

I actually made a booking yesterday for one night, at Premier inn Bath road (£53) for a trip over the festive and new year period, i was going to stay at the Moxy Bath road (as have a parking booking there through “Your parking space, £150 for 3 weeks) a 2 mins drive, or 10 min walk from this premier inn, at the Moxy you had 24 hours to cancel after the booking was made, or you loose your funds, also premier inn was £40 cheaper, so I’ll suffer the 10 min walk. I am actually surprised that the ones around LHR are still a reasonable price, not so much can be said for the ones at LGW, last time I flew from there in November.

Hilton Promotion : Double “base points” didn’t seem right, I’m pretty sure reading the T&C’s is bonus points.

    • Peter K says:

It is bonus points equal to your base points, rather than double base points, you are correct.

  • dan_a_man says:

Still not getting a 100% Hilton buy points offer. Stuck at 80% for a couple cycles now – interesting study they are running, maybe they should also study how much money they are missing out on…
