Accor Live Limitless, the loyalty programme for Novotel, Pullman, Mercure, Raffles, Sofitel, ibis etc, has launched a transfer bonus with Avios, via Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Finnair Plus. Click for details.

When you convert Avios into Accor Live Limitless hotel points by 20th May, you will receive a 50% bonus.

In order to do this via Qatar Airways, which is the most likely route for HfP readers, your Accor Live Limitless account needs to be connected to your Qatar Airways Privilege Club Avios account.

You should have already done this because anyone who does so receives Avios on all of their Accor hotel stays – ON TOP of their usual Accor Live Limitless points.

50% bonus on Avios transfers to Accor points

It is a complex scheme and I don’t want to run over it again here. If you want to learn more about it, read this HfP article on the Qatar Airways Privilege Club Avios / Accor Live Limitless partnership.

You can transfer Avios from British Airways to Qatar Airways Privilege Club using the instructions here – it’s instant, free and reversible.

What’s the bonus worth?

Until 20th May, you will receive 1,500 Accor Live Limitless points (usually 1,000) for every 4,500 Avios you convert from your Qatar Airways Privilege Club account.

(The rate for converting via Finnair Plus is slightly worse at 750 ALL points for 2,300 Avios. This is another reason why you are likely to be converting by moving your British Airways Club Avios to Qatar Airways Privilege Club.)

Don’t get too excited about this.  Accor points have a fixed value of 2 Eurocents each.  There is no ‘reward chart’ – the points cost for a night is simply the cash price in Euro multiplied by 50.

This means that you are swapping 4,500 Avios in Qatar Airways Privilege Club for a €30 (£25.50) Accor hotel discount.  This is just 0.57p per Avios, which is poor, albeit better than cashing out via Nectar or using your points for BA seat selection fees, via Avios Hotels etc when you will normally get 0.5p.

There are two reasons why I think you might want to do this:

  • Accor Live Limitless points expire after 12 months with no account activity. Making an Avios transfer into Accor will reset your expiry date and you might as well do it whilst there is a bonus on.
  • You may have been interested in some of the recent ‘Limitless Experiences’ VIP Accor redemptions – such as the ALL Terrace at OVO Arena Wembley – and want to get some Accor points to redeem for future events. The acts currently bookable are Jeff Dunham (4,500 ALL points for two), Lara Fabian (9,000 ALL points for two) and Billy Idol (7,000 ALL points for two).

You can find out more about the Accor / Avios transfer bonus on this page of the Accor Live Limitless website.

You should be aware that if your Accor Live Limitless account is already linked to another airline programme (eg Flying Blue) you will have to unlink that account to partake in the Qatar Airways programme. You can link your ALL account to only one programme at a time.

This isn’t my experience. My underlying points from Accor stays are automatically converted into Iberia points, whilst I’m also seeing points post to QR.

  • B says:

I’ve had my account linked and double-checked it repeatedly, even checking with an Accor agent. I never receive any Q points 🙃

    • Rob says:

I’ve never NOT had Avios from an Accor cash stay!

    • Lee says:

I also have never had a problem getting Avios from Accor (on Sofitel stays) into my Qatar account. Just happens automatically every time since I linked the accounts (like Uber)
But Q points aren’t Avios, they are Qatar Tier points which you wont get (?)
