I hope it doesn’t happen. For e.g. a Caribbean route, avios required will be something like 180k each way (based on ratio of PE to CW currently). As it currently stands you can start ex-UK (e.g. DUB) and get F for around 95k avios plus £200 or so for the outbound. Even taking into account a positioning flight it’s a no-brainer.
*Having said that, I don’t know if the choice of “old” options would still apply if RFS was introduced AND you started ex-UK!
