I actually have a higher limit than £30k but that was not the point. The point was that it is rare (not impossible, rare as it is less usual than getting a lower limit) to get a £30k limit from account opening and it is more likely that it will be increased overtime (I never had to apply for an increase, they simply notified me each time that they were going to increase it and I had the option to reject it if I did not want it). 20 years or less of “good account management” (it is actually a term that CC company use) means always paying more than the minimum account balance and on time (my own record was always paying in full), but also worth noting that for most of my corporate career I had a corporate issued card that I had to use for work expenses so I could not play the game other May do in order to put higher spending through their personal Amex card – which they have now specifically banned).
