Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club At which point is a 2-4-1 voucher meant to disappear from My Account?

    Hi all,

Just a point of curiosity that I haven’t seen covered in any of the articles. When you use a 2-4-1 voucher, does it stay visible in the account until you’ve actually flown it (and therefore there’s 0 chance of you cancelling that booking), thus allowing you to “explore” what else you could do with that voucher while you still haven’t flown your existing booking, or does it disappear once you’ve booked and is meant to reappear upon cancellation of that flight?

    Thanks!

The voucher disappears straight away and if still valid will reappear when you cancel the booking.

So if I’ve booked a flight using 2-4-1, the flight has appeared in My Bookings and both legs are ticketed (=have a ticket number issued) but the voucher still seems to linger in My Account for weeks after I’ve booked, should I just consider myself lucky and left with a “free” voucher or should I expect BA to realise their mistake and withdraw it at some point?

Sounds like you’re one of the lucky ones, it’s been mentioned a few times on here. Best option is to make another booking with it ASAP and enjoy a freebie at BA’s expense. Nothing can possibly go wrong with this approach.

    Scott 😂

This sometimes happens to me when I make changes to the voucher booking e.g. call in and upgrade one/both legs – they can stick around in my account long after I’ve flown. I had 2 used vouchers sitting in my account until recently, they disappeared when I politely enquired of a call agent as to their validity as I thought I had used them. The agent said they will eventually get picked up in a back office audit.
