Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA Holidays double tier points offer – MASTER THREAD

Hello everyone, I’m trying to chase up my double tier points from a booking in August. The booking was for Tulsa return via DFW with 18 days or so car hire; the thing is the out bound flight was delayed and we missed the connection in DFW, BA put us on a flight the next day however AA got us on a flight that evening. All this meant the connecting flight from DFW to TUL didn’t register for Avios or Tier points. To make things more complex i changed the return from Tul-Lhr to Bos-Lhr. I did complete over 5 days car hire and did complete the return flights but the double tier points haven’t posted.
What is the best method to chase up BA Holidays to get the points posted ASAP?
To make things worse i have 3460 tier points and my year end is 8th Oct. The 3500 tier point threshold for upgrade vouchers is in grasp!

The double TPs are a BA Hols issue but first you need to ask BA for either “original routing credit” for the flights that were delayed and rebooked or just for the AA rebooked flights you took if that gets you more TPs or Avios and you should call Exec Club about those

My thinking is that the latter will post quicker than the double TP

    Hi All,

I recently completed a BA Holidays Booking returned Mon/Tue, and whilst the normal Tier Points from the flights have credited I am still awaiting on the Bonus Tier Points. My collection year ends on 8th October and need these to credit to my 22/23 Tier Point collection year as this will advance me to BA Gold and do NOT want these credited to 23/24 collection year. They say these credit within 14 days of return but does it credit per the date of return flight or date of credit? I really need it to be the former
Is it possible to somehow make sure the Tier Points are awarded based on date of travel which would fall inside my 22/23 collection year?

Bonus TPS should credit based on date of travel, and if they don’t then you should call up BA to get this fixed. Recent evidence is they are posting based on date of Outbound travel, so you should be fine.

    Would a multi-city itinerary like

    LGW – CAG // FLR – LCY

with a car for 5+ in FLR qualify? I can’t see anything in the T&Cs that would exclude this.

And would it actually be bookable?

    Great, thank you

Do the 5 nights have to be all in one destination?

I have 200k in Avios but struggling with flights to Australia. So I’m thinking doing it another way. So if I book a BA holidays package. First to Doha in premium economy and stay a night. Then is Air miles to get to Australia as availability seems better for Business. Then while in Australia book a few nights in Sydney and a few in Melbourne. Use the airmiles for internal flights and a flight to HKG. Then book a night or 2 in Hong Kong followed by a Business class flight back from Hong Kong. So total hotels on the booking would be 6/7 nights just over multiple cities. The rest of my stays in Australia are at friend’s house.

Would I then qualify for the double tier points. So 90 for the Doha and 160 for Hong Kong. Meaning would have 500 tier points. Then would just need to make up another 100 to get Silver.

BA Holidays- I booked car rental in a city and want to reduce the number of days of the rental. How do I do it? Any suggestions. By any chance will I get a refund for since number of days is reduced?

    Usual crapness.

Booked a CW return with hotel to Pittsburgh. No double tier points six weeks after travel. No replies to email. Complaint submitted and awaiting a response.

Was it the required minimum 5 nights?

    3,325 posts

And that’s minimum of 5 nights in the hotel. Some trips may be 5 nights but not all trips include 5 nights in a hotel.

Or were there any changes to the booking? Perhaps you upgraded from WT+ or the date changed?

    That usually messes things up.

And things like that are where the vast majority of complaints are generated from. The basic system works well and has been for ages so isn’t the ‘usual crapness’

You’re fine and won’t have to do anything. TPs always credit to date of travel and this includes the double TPs. Even if they come in after 8 Nov, they will be backdated to October (you might see a few line items on the transaction report to achieve this). You’ll then move to Gold 48-72 hours after the points hit, just takes a little time to cascade through.

Yes, I think anirishgirl was referring to my original post, and can confirm just over a week later the double TP posted to my lifetime balance but showed zero on the statement as it was after the collection year but it was all correct as my status went up to where it should be, so all good, thanks for your help all

    Yes. I did 6 nights.

No response to emails or my complaint yet. I contacted by web chat and they said they would put the request through. We’ll see.

So there is a 30 day limit from what I understand.

So if I was to leave the UK on the 6th October 2024 and Fly back from Hong Kong on the 3rd November 2024. Landing on the 4th November which would be 30 days. Or as th return flight leaves on the 3rd could I leave the UK on the 5th October as this would be 30 days from when the return flight departs?

Just want to make sure I still qualify for double tier points.

    Thanks

Sorry fellow HfP’ers if this has been answered in previous posts. I did try to search, honest!

My TP Year ends 8th October.Currently Gold.
Card Expiry date is 30th November.

If I am sitting on 800 TPs now and have the following TP run booked, will I stay on Gold or drop to silver?

Outbound 27th November – BHD-LHR-SOF (is 180 TPs, doubled with rental car is 360, bringing me to 1160
    Inbound 2nd December – SOF-LHR-BHD (as above, 360 points)

As the return leg falls beyond 30th November does that mean the 360 TPs earned flying home credit to next years TP tally or as it is in same booking, will it follow suit and count with the outbound TPs bringing me above 1500 and Gold again?

    Thanks in advance guys.

Unfortunately your TP year end was 8 October and the 800TP earned should have been zeroed out already unless you only earned them since 9 October. Also any flights since that date count to your new year. You will consequently drop to Silver status on 1 December. You also have miscalculated your TPs for your November trip. It is only 120TP one-way for BHD-LHR-SOF so 240 return which would double to 480TP.

We’re 14 days back from our BA holiday yesterday with original tier points credited after the flights but no double yet- is it worth chasing up? Or at what point do you chase? My calendar end is 8th nov I know they’re credited back to original date but still I’d just like to be sure they have.

The rules state TP will post up to 14 working days after the return date. So you’re just a little early. I would expect they will post this coming Wednesday. If they don’t post this week then chase BA. Was there any issue or change made to the booking before you flew? They should be backdated to the date of the outbound flight anyway so you should be OK.

Thanks @aja – hadnt realised it was working days – I’ll hang tight for now. Nope, no changes all as was the original booking – flight and car hire 👌🏻 thanks for the advice

    Hi folks
I have a BA holiday booked for February ’24 [Canary Islands]. This was snapped up in a sale and the flights are economy. This earns a pretty dismal 20 tier points [10 x 2 under current offer]. If I now upgrade the flights to CE, will this still qualify for the offer i.e. 80 x 2 – 160 tier points?
    Thanks

    Datapoint:

A BAH taken in October which had 4 days of hotel and then 3 following days of car hire, all used, has *not* credited double TPs over 14 days since it was completed.

Chat refuse to credit as “T&Cs say ‘hotel/car’ which means ‘hotel or car’, combinations are not valid”.

and, LOL, as though the TP fairies were watching, the TPs have posted this afternoon, almost exactly 28 days after… How fascinating.
