Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Accepted for premier banking

  • Pointofview 36 posts

Just been accepted for premier banking having previously held just a normal current account along with the Barclays premium plus credit card.
Just wondering if anyone knows what the next steps are regarding getting the 100k bonus and what sort of time it will take?

    Thank you

I think the issue is more that if you follow all the steps, there is no indication at the end of the process that one has successfully qualified to get the 100k/125k Avios after the four month period. This has been reported in a number of different threads and in the original article comments. It seems difficult to believe Barclays will manage to tie all the threads together to ensure there won’t be a mass of complaints in February onwards when the points don’t turn up.

Further to JDB’s point, I just received an email from Barclays with subject “[Name], great news – you’re eligible for a 100,000 Avios bonus”, and contents:

“With your Barclaycard Avios Plus credit card and Barclays Avios Rewards, you have everything you need to collect your 100,000 Avios bonus.

To qualify for it, simply keep them open until at least [date 4 months after opening last account] 2023.”

So it seems they are confirming pre-success (pending 4 months enrollment period) via email.

For those of you who received the email confirming eligibility for the 100k Avios offer, did you do an account switch from an old account or did you just open up the new account with Barclays without doing a switch? Thanks.
