Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Changing SIN SYD leg

  • 25 posts

    Hi All,

I have finally successfully booked some flights from LON – SIN – SYD with a 5 day layover in SIN as I coudnt get a ticket all the way through on the BA15 TO SYD. Utilising my AMEX Companion

I have SeatSpy alerts setup incase an earlier flight from SIN to SYD does become available however when trying to use MMB it doesnt allow me to look into changes. Are these types of changes only available to do with BA direct over the phone?

You would need to call, however the stopover in SIN is the holy grail of travel for some people on here!

Also SeatSpy won’t alert you to any “extra” availability the 241 would unlock (if it’s the BAPP one).

Yeah I have come to notice that haha!
Unfortunately I dont have the BAPP card just standard Blue however 60k avios for return sydney flights i am more than happy with. Just would rather spend an extra few days in Sydney than hanging around in Singapore when i dont really need to.

It would alert me for any cancelled seats on the SIN SYD though wouldnt it? This is the only way i would get the chance to bring that flight forward i would assume?

Also, assuming this doesnt come with any additional avios cost by moving the flight dates?

There would be extra avios required if your date moved from off peak to peak.

Yes you would be alerted to any cancellations which dropped back into the inventory, but there may be a delay in which time someone else could snap them up so don’t rely on it 100%.

Luckily both days i have originally booked are already peak dates so assuming if i can move them, I wouldnt get the decrease in avios back?

Yeah i do notice this so will keep actively checking the BA website too

We have the opposite issue! Currently on BA15 on the 30th Dec all the way through, want to add the stopover in SIN for a week or so over the New Year. We did similar last week (landed into SIN on the 5th and departed to SYD on the 7th), originally in PE but in mid November pretty decent J availability was around for SIN-SYD in January (not using the BAPP voucher). So if you have a SeatSpy alert there’s a decent chance something will come up.

That’s given me hope! In due to go SIN SYD on 18 Feb. Could do the it being brought forward to around 13/14 to either go straight through or just 1 night stop over instead of 5

Alert is setup so fingers and toes crossed
