Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Crediting a non VS flight after status is achieved

    Hello all,

On the 5th February, I’m going to fly with Latam (Colombia) MDE-MIA in Premium Economy (or CE by BA’s standards…)

I’ve already put in my VSFC number, but the thing is that the day afterwards, I’m flying home with VS, and after the flight finishes, I’ll become VS Silver level, if I take off the ff number, then wait until I’m VS Silver level, would I get the additional Silver level bonus points (30%) or would it be credited as what my level at the time of the flight, – Red ?

Anyone who’s got any idea what might happen here, please say below, thanks

From this, I’m assuming you’re Red, and this LA flight will move you to Silver. Whilst VS IT does have some interesting hiccups from time to time, officially you will earn at the Red level. Flights flown after your account moves to Silver (which is usually within 24 hours of accruing the relevant TPs) will earn the Silver benefits (e.g. 30% bonus).

Yeah I’m currently Red level, and I’ll be flying via Miami, not Los Angeles !

I’m just trying to figure out if I’d be better off crediting the flight another time rather than before I’m on the plane

I’m not sure if anyone’s found any success doing this sort of thing with other airline programs ?
