They also confirmed it to me and have refunded £45 in fees by way of mitigation!

Did you cancel/downgrade as my annual fee just hit on the 1st!

No, mine had just hit on August 28th a few days before the email! With the 3-month refund I think I’ll make the most of it for another year then re-assess.

why does “every” entry about Curve turn into this :))

back in time, it’d taken me a minute to figure out what Bendy was, but now, it is impossible

The codewords are not related to Curve.

One (or more) users have suggested a more detailed discussion take place via email, interested users can email a particular address with their codeword so as to identify it is a HFP user.

I think that some of the users are posting codewords just for the fun of it.

Some?? I think most are… also wait for the usual chorus of whining when the avenues close and people get blocked/banned from various financial institutions and shouting that their ‘rights’ have been infringed

Right, finally got “that email” and changes appear to be from 13 Nov

Notwithstanding that all the bad news is buried in T&Cs on pdf links, if I read this correctly, am I right in understanding that they are removing the foreign exchange weekend fee? That would be good news from a pure practical point of view

Just had an email re: the changes.

They’ll stay from 13/11 now, rather than 10/11, no doubt to give 60 days notice.

I’ve just had this nonsense from them:

“On 4 September 2023 we sent you a notice about changes to our terms. Since then, our community has given us feedback on what matters most to them.

We’ve listened carefully and we’ve taken action, revisiting our currency conversion pricing to give you more freedom to spend abroad on any card without fees, while earning rewards on your credit cards.”

As stated, it only seems to concern very minor changes to FX transactions. I rather suspect the “feedback” was a bit more extensive!

How I read it is: No foreign exchange fee on purchases on a weekend if the funding source is in £,€,$. There is a fee otherwise, and a 2.5% fee if over your fee-free allowance for your plan level.

There looks to be a fee for withdrawing cash from a non-UK ATM however at the weekend. And the fee free cash withdrawal on UK ATMs is ending on the free plan.

Just had an email “We’ve listened to your feedback” (I didn’t get the original email advising of changes to terms) and it seems like they’re rowing back slightly on the FX fees, Free will get £250 (down from £1,000, but originally proposed £0), X will get £1,000 (originally proposed £500), Black will get £2,000 (originally proposed £1,000), and Metal will be unlimited (originally proposed £5,000).

It’s just too difficult these days to find ATMs abroad that don’t charge (some in Spain want 7 euros!!) so I always take a bit of cash and use Curve or Revolut the rest of the time.

Well that would be good news then, given most of us will be funding in £,$,€

…although I can’t see any ATM fees if you stay within your limits

Neither myself (X) or OH (free) card holder have received any emails from Curve about this at all

I’m unsure what the Foreign ATM Withdrawal Fees actually are for Metal (or other fee cards) as its missing a ‘then’ qualifier on the fees section. Guessing it’s £0 until you hit the withdrawal limit on the card (eg. £1k in 30 days), and THEN you pay the 2% fee?

I got the email this afternoon as well.
I think it’s time to give Curve the chop. I’m on the free card, but with Revolut, Chase and Starling, Curve’s days were numbered long ago.
