Was annoyed initially, I’m probably going to continue with Curve Metal @ 17.99/month

    Value to me:
Allows Credit Card to be used when only Debit Card allowed approx £60 /month
ATM withdrawls – No Value – metal card gets stuck in ATMs! 0 /month
    Currency Conversion approx £2/month
    Fronted £45/month
    Insurances maybe £10/month
    Cashback £5/month

    It’s still worth it.

Not sure how you will be getting £60 a month using a credit card where only debit allowed. Surely that will be from the £3000 fee-free limit. That’s a 2% rebate. I think you might be double counting that with the £45/month.

I could be wrong however in your specific circumstances.

Read the thread for a few hints of where fronted isn’t needed 🙂

Additionally – particularly common in South America, where I travel a lot, frequently places only take debit card which of course isn’t great if you only have a foreign card.

One could argue that as the free plan also offers this that you should not include it in your valuation of the metal plan.

I have a retailer insisting to see a statement showing my curve transaction. All I can get is the receipt on the app but this only shows the underlying credit card last 4 digits and not my curve details (or last 4 digits). They’re baffled but insistent on a ‘statement’. Any tips?

Sounds like you’d be better off paying £9.99 a month for the Black card instead. Offers everything you desire plus you’ll have an ATM friendly plastic card…Result! 😀

but not fronted allowance on curve black? So would pay £7.99 less, but lose £45 of benefit. unless they can make back £38 from ATM I think that is a net loss suggestion.

Is anyone getting an email back? My email was delayed in my outlook so a gap between posting here an sending an email.

    Mine has twice.

Moving forward, Fronted allowance on Metal £3,000 & £1,000 on Black. Add in the £500 per rolling 30-day period ATM allowance then they may not be worse off on Black.

    Same.
Lloyds cash machines definitely a no-no
    Natwest/Post office seem ok.
The only time I risk it now is to get cash out overseas. I hate metal cards, negative value unless I want to impress someone easily impressed (I don’t).

I’m also not a fan of metal cards. Only once in many years has anyone even noticed. It caught me by surprise and certainly wasn’t a proud moment.

The rest of the time they are just heavier and I’ve had my curve one delaminate twice!

I have never invested in Curve (and actually have it carved out of a fund that would otherwise hold it)

There’s a fund that holds Curve out there somewhere? Which one?

Oxford Capital EIS fund is one, but I’m sure there are plenty of others.

Assume no one has received formal email and this is not yet in effect for 60 days notice.
Certainly have to consider such major change prior to next renewal.

I wouldn’t get too hooked up on the two months notice period – Curve isn’t a credit card so any notice period is a contractual one rather than any statutory notice period. The proposed changes are to the Subscription Schedule, incorporated into the terms, but not a change to the terms. To the extent that Curve fails to notify someone, they do provide that those people would be allowed to cancel within two months of notification, but it won’t stop a change coming into effect. You could theoretically claim for any actual losses incurred on transactions carried out on the new terms vs old ones.

Metal subscriber and have received nothing, are we sure it’s a real change that’s coming?

If so, Curve should be embarrassed how hard is a mail merge really 😂

It’s real. Chat confirmed it to me. Actually, they partially confirmed the changes but forgot the fee-free fronted limits changes. I double checked and they apologised for forgetting to mention it, but confirmed it was happening.

They also confirmed it to me and have refunded £45 in fees by way of mitigation!
