I have a credit card free night voucher expiring soon. I need to book and stay before 24th May. I don’t have any trips planned but worst case I’ll book a night in a UK city somewhere.
Is there a way I can extend this voucher expiry?
Anyone have any recommendations except Intercon park lane?
Or is it an option to even sell the voucher to someone? Obviously, only if selling it is allowed. Thanks!
I think you only need to book by 24 May, the stay can be later – provided that is you do it on the website, rather than via the app.
I’m also currently looking to book one of these, not finding it very user friendly to search or find availability to book anything “good”!
Since, as per the recent HfP IHG story, anyone can be the lucky recipient of a rewards night as long as they are the second person mentioned on the booking…..
I would have been interested for Bora Bora at £1400 a night – but I am already booked 😉 smug smile!
My best UK uses would be: Any Kimpton, IC PL (though guessing a bit as not staying till July), & The George, Indigo Durham, Bath or Stratford Upon Avon.
But unless it’s one of the glitchy ones from during the pandemic, you should have nearly 12 months after the “book by” date.
@qvister – what/when are you looking for? Another PITA with the most recent vouchers is that you have to start each search from scratch or it’ll just show no availability anywhere after the first search. The joys of IHG IT!
Thanks all!
You’re right about book by vs stay by when booking on the website rather than via the app! Although even on the website it sometimes shows Free night availability and sometimes doesn’t so I’ll have a play around with it.
Don’t forget to start each search from the beginning to see the real availability.
Yep thanks!
I guess the only downside is that once I book a date in advance, it then becomes non-refundable after the ‘book by’ date as the voucher will have expired if I were to cancel it.
Would anyone be interesting in buying this free night voucher? (if allowed!)
I can book and add an additional guest as per @Colin MacKinnon’s comment above. I’m also a Diamond Ambassador member.
I’m running out of time to book something and don’t have a specific trip planned yet, so thought I’d ask the question here.
The main IC Bora Bora is over £2k per night over new years btw so potentially good value to be had if somebody is planning a trip!
Worst case if nobody is interested in buying I will just book a night at IC PL or one of the above suggestions for a date later this year and at least get £400-500 value out of it.
