Was that just done via live chat?

Nope, it was prepaid online advance rate booking! The complaints Worked for 2x separate bookings, one made on my card and the other on my wifes, much to my surprise

Yes, I went on chat asked for the credit, they asked me if i was eligible according to certain terms (interesingly none of these terms Amex sent mentioned checkout spend), I said yes they said they would “raise a file”, the credit then came through within 3 days on both accounts.

Same here – after three interactions on live chat, and waiting for 30 days after the qualifying spend, an agent manually triggered the offer for me. £50 credited on my account 24 hrs later.

This was for three Hilton stays in Brum, one of which was prepaid. Interestingly the transactions showed up on my statement as:
HILTON HOTELS ROMFORD & ATLAS2 HOTELS TRADING (LONDON)

This offer has disappeared from my cards. Does any one have any ideas or advice on resolving this? I need to use it this week

Don’t suppose you did a screenshot?! I always do this with saved offers since having a few issues.

But doesn’t it expire on 27/12? You’d be cutting it very fine indeed unless you’ve got a checkout spend today.

I don’t have screenshots unfortunately. I tend to only screenshot after using an offer, as there are too many offers that I save speculatively.

Amex are also claiming that I have no offer saved!

My Conrad stay posted 4 days later.

Had this in two cards, with both posting within a few days of trip end.

I stayed at The Conrad on Nov 1st. Despite a phone call and three online chats I am still waiting for the credit! Keep being robbed off, told it’s being escalated, apologised to for time taken, asked to wait another 48hrs etc. Shoddy.

Hilton Kensington last week, credit pinged just after check-out.

Don’t know if I’ve been unlucky or AMEX just getting stricter with these but tried chancing my hand by using this for a prepaid rate and offer not credited within 30 days. Tried giving them a chase up and they’ve confirmed as payment was made online, they won’t be applying the credit. Hey ho, win some, lose some.

This is unfortunately fairly standard. Prepaid rates will very frequently trigger an offer if the hotel takes payment as if it were a checkout one but if it doesn’t track, Amex will fall back on the terms that say the transaction was ineligible and there isn’t much one can do about that. It is possible that your transaction will eventually track out of the blue.
