It’s more to see the place, of course, but I wondered
if anyone could recommend the “how”: is the breakfast
worth it? The set menu of lamb? Drinks and snacks?
Any tips welcome!
Shouldn’t the tips go to the staff? 🤔
we just had coffee and a croissant each. coffee was nice, croissant not so much, but as you say you are going there to see the room(s)

It’s easy enough to see the splendid room (although Paris is hardly short of those) without eating there which is, as you correctly identify, the least good aspect. Or you can just watch Mr Bean on a good screen and enjoy eating elsewhere.

whilst you are correct to say you can see the main dining room without staying/purchasing, you can’t see the smaller rooms at the back unless you walk to the toilets…and those smaller rooms and even the toilets were quite interesting to see as well…
also it felt rather nice spending 30 mins in there and using their toilet before getting the TGV to Avignon…
Pop into the Hôtel De La Marine (not a hotel, a museum) if you want to see some truly beautiful rooms!
@sloth – it’s a huge place so it wouldn’t take much chutzpah (or savoir faire as it might be called locally) to visit the bogs for a full viewing but the point is, it’s not really worth the detour. If you happen to be catching a train from there, definitely visit.
PS I don’t recall if Mr Bean visited the loo but you get lots of shots of the room. Major trouble filming that scene.

exactly, hence my last sentence…

Good plan B.
@JDB we definitely won’t order the oysters…
