Asking for a friend but she used an AMB voucher in April and paid $320 for a Saturday night with the Sunday night free.
She has not been awarded any points for the Saturday night and has been told it’s a non qualifying stay…is this correct? In the past I’ve always had points for the first night per $ spent but not the second obviously?TIA
She should have earned points for the first unless this has changed very recently! What did it say on her original confirmation? Ambassador 2nd night free bookings usually show the full points which you’d earn if you paid for both nights, then after the stay the actual number for the first night are posted to your account. I would have shown the confirmation and asked them how they squared that with it being “non-qualifying”.

I used mine at the Vividora last year and got base+elite bonus+20k for the ambassador welcome bonus+2k for earn on unlimtied stays for a total of 25390 points. I’ll take that for 240 euro spend for 2 nights.
As long as it was booked at the Ambassador rate this is a mistake. Points should be allocated for the Saturday night, and both nights usually show as qualifying. Ambassador customer service should be able to sort it out quite easily via phone or e-mail.
This happens to us occasionally with AMB weekend certificates, possibly because we always combine ours with award nights and mistakes can happen more easily. In the most recent case, in April, I could see from the details for our “Non-Qualifying Stay” that IHG had mistakenly allocated a qualifying spend of zero to our first night.

How could you receive points for zero spend?
BTW the issue was eventually resolved through the Ambassador email, but it took too long.

Because that is what happened. My voucher for last year was the same. The full spend shows on my IHG points account and the second (free) night as a credit on the hotel bill.
It’s relatively common for hotels to incorrectly process ambassador 241 stays. Happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Raised it via the missing points form and had the qualifying nights, spend points, bonus points, offer points, and some points for the inconvenience the following day.
