Forums Other Destination advice Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico – suggestions?

Having scored DUB-LHR-MEX with a 241 in F next December for the fabulous sum of 94k avios plus £483, we are spending 5 nights at the new Kimpton Virgilio in Mexico City, then heading off to the Pacific coast. I have finally settled on Nuevo Vallarta as our base for 12 nights as there seem to be plentiful scuba diving opportunities for OH and ease of access to PVR from where we can head home via ATL using our expiring Virgin voucher.

We have never been to the Pacific coast – I’m aware NV is a purpose-built resort town but any tips for day trips and other activities will be gratefully received! We will have done lots of archaeological stuff in CDMX, and not bothered about hiring a car if we don’t have to. I speak Spanish, which I will be brushing up this year by watching Mexican soap operas.

, I promise we will go somewhere more authentic next time 😂

Some of the street food in PV is excellent, worth some thorough research.

There was a bar in PV that had trapeze shows, which were good fun, am not sure if it is still there.

Costa Nayarit, about an hour away, is an awful lot nicer and relatively much more unspoilt. The area generally has become increasingly American in style and price, albeit not yet to the extent of Baja.

    Hi

How are you doing that can I ask?

Thought the voucher could only be used on VS fligths?

Plan is DL to ATL then use the voucher for ATL-MAN unless there’s a better option 🤷‍♀️
