Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Return leg 2 for 1 voucher

  • 25 posts

    Hi all
I booked the outboard business flight using my amex 241 voucher. There was no avios return availability at the time of booking.
This return leg availability opened up later so I make the booking online in premium economy.
I thought that I could combine the two flights via the BA call centre and get half of the return flight avios refunded.
Call centee are telling me that I can’t as its outside of the booking window and not in the same class ie. Business both ways.
I explained they were both booked outside of the booking window and at different times as thats when the availability opened up. Call centre wont budge.
Am I able to combine these flights to get half the avios back or not please?

You are not able to combine two separately booked flights into a single booking.

BA will make a manual adjustment to the number of avios needed for the return leg to reflect the voucher.

Call again. Don’t mention merging the bookings but just state you want half the avios back.

As long as you used the same option, i.e. ratio of avios plus cash for each leg, you should get the 50% avios back. As per above, just say that you booked the return leg when it was released and please can they refund the avios. You’ll be left with 2 separate bookings but this isn’t an issue.
If you still have no joy with the call centre, try chat or Twitter (or whatever it’s called now!)

If the OP saw that Business seat had opened up using Avios, would they need to cancel the current Avios booking and rebook? Or can it be upgraded?

If they had to rebook, does the new booking also reflect the 50% less Avios or has that option now gone?

Thanks everyone. Phoned 3 times and got an offshore call centre each time with no joy.
Is their a silver number or any number that can conect to a uk call centre?

Are you saying they all refused to refund the avios?
There is a Silver number, I don’t have it to hand but a quick google should throw it up. I think they open at 8.
Also try Chat/Xwitter as per above.
