    Back from our NCL/LHR/GVA trip.

    Filghts there and back were great and cleared passport control very quickly even in the UK. Only issue was the north BA lounge at T5. It was like a busy noisy school canteen, tons of uncleared dirty plates packed and to cap it all it was like being in an episode of the Apprentice with the only seats available left next to some wannabe tycoon! Waht I don’t know about his business is not worth knowing! Left early as quiter in the main airport after a coffee and a sneaky custard cream (140calories!)

    On return the BA lounge at GVA was a haven of tranquility as indeed was the south galley club lounge.

    So choose your lounge carefully!

    I used the north lounge in mid-Feb. It was chaotic. Whilst in there, I got a text survey from BA which I filled out promptly noting the state of affairs. We left about 20-30 mins later – the front desks were vacant and they had bouncers on the door, sending everyone to the South lounge.

    Better utilisation of the B lounge is surely key here (although obviously that doesn’t help those of us in the know…)

    My strategy this year (which has paid off as the summer schedule has just been confirmed) is if I have to fly BA from LHR (using up vouchers or they are the only carrier), to try to depart from T3. Looking good for GIB, VIE and GCM so far!

    @Richard
    Peters, a school canteen with unlimited wine and spirits sounds wonderful but would probably result in teenagers vomiting in the corners and hogging the loos for hours 😂

    It felt like that!
