Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club T5 – Short Connection Time & Baggage

Hi, I’ve got a trip booked in August from NCL to JFK and due to a connecting flight in JFK I’ve needed to book a tight connection in LHR.

I’ve got an hour from landing in LHR to make the connection which whilst tight hopefully should be fine as baggage is checked through. It’s just occurred to me whether an hour is enough time for the baggage to be checked through to the connecting flight.

    Flights are as follows:
    NCL – LHR 6:00 – 7:20
    LHR – JFK 08:25 – 11:05
    JFK – MCO 16:14 – 19:30

I’ve got some flexibility on my booking as it’s a reward flight and there is some availability in Business for the 11:20 flight but it would mean changing to a much later flight on the JFK side.

What are the thoughts? Am I cutting things too close and risk loosing baggage or missing flight?

60 mins is tight IMO. I’ve yet to land at Heathrow on time. The only time I’ve landed early, or on-time, the plane couldnt get to a stand and had to wait on the tarmac. It ended up being late !!

You’ll also have to get the transit train/shuttle from T5-A to either B or C for the JFK flight, which will require 10/15 mins or so.

Minimum connection time for T5-T5 connection is 60 minutes and every day thousands of people meet their connections.

Your bag will get from plane to plane quicker than you will.
