I’ve been checking since the day of release for 1 business seat using avios either on BA or QR to SYD/MEL 9,10,11,12 Jan 25 from London , not seen anything come up , more interested travelling on QR however would travel BA , have they released the seats or has someone over the phone grabbed them at 00.01
The likelihood is they’re getting snapped up as soon as they’re released. QR release their award seats earlier than BA (can be 365 days out), so you need to look on their website for those. In January they may only be offering seats at double avios (Rob did an article on this recently).
Have you got a companion voucher which might open up more availability on BA?
Oh that’s my mistake re QR and release dates 🙁 . Yea I have the comp voucher nothing showing either.
I’ll keep checking each day just Incase

And dubin
Don’t forget to check out other Oneworld Airlines (Cathay, JAL, Malaysian, Qantas etc). Multi carrier award is the best value to Australia for sure although it will require a bit of time and planning to find the seats.
