    Just got this from Barclays:

    “ We’re sorry we’ve not applied your Avios bonus yet. We’re working to fix it and we’ll let you know next week when we’re able to add the bonus. Thanks for your patience. Your Barclays team”

    It has been 4 months + 5 weeks for me. No bonus yet. Has anyone else got this message too?

    Yep just had the same message via Text from Barclays. About the same 4 months + 5/6weeks for me. Least we know it’s coming soon enough!

    I hit 5 months anniversary of card + account opening tomorrow, never got an email, no text. Was wondering why the flood of ‘I’ve got my 100k’ posting has stopped, thanks for sharing the update. Looks like the target payout really is 4 months plus the full 8 weeks.

    I’m on 4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days, so got another month or so before the deadline.

    Got the 100k email back in November advising to keep the account open till 18th March but no other communication from them since (no text but I have been out of the country a lot so that can mess with the texts coming through)

    My email says keep the account until 29 March and they would be in touch. Took six weeks for the upgrade voucher to arrive so I’ll expect similar again for this!

    I have asked before but got no reply, anyone that has passed the date on the original email has decided to downgrade/close one of the two products? Specifically I would like to downgrade the Barclaycard to the free version as I barely use it and it bothers me to wast even only another £20 waiting for the bonus

    I recall asking a similar question months ago, basically given the problems so far, suspect no one would be brave enough to risk this.

    When the ‘prize’ is 100k Avios equivalent for many to £1000, what’s £20? It’s up to you whether or not to take the punt and your experience may not be the same as someone else’s. It’s also £15, not £20 if you’re eligible for the 100k with the dual rewards £5 back – the £12 monthly Premier fee is covered by 1,500 Avios.

    Anyway, a) you can enjoy 1.5 Avios for a bit longer and b) if someone here says, yes, closed my account and got 100k no prob, how would you feel if you didn’t get the 100k?

    Never mind, I chatted to Premier Banking, that checked my account and confirmed I could downgrade now as the 4 months have passed and I have thus qualified for the bonus. I have it in writing within the chat, together with the original mail confirming dates, pretty sure I can win any legal argument if it comes to it.

    I already pay the annual fees for the Amex Platinum and BAPP so paying £30 more (between the wife and I, we did get the £5 back for every month) is really pointless once I have met my legal obligations. The only thing I really can use these cards where Amex is not accepted is the Pay360 for the school charges (meals, trips, etc) and I have preloaded the accounts of all the kids for the remainder of the school year).

    Well good luck with that Luca because you have a lot of trust in Barclays. After all, we should have all received the bonus points by now if they were to be trusted in the beginning, no? Someone else in the thread got the 100k Avios email and then they turned around and still said they are ineligible so I can’t see them having such a hard time saying no to you even if you have a screenshot of the chat.

    Basically, you can’t trust Barclays to keep their word as far as I’m concerned. Best you can do is make sure you play by the rules until you get the points. If you don’t get the points then at least you could argue afterwards for a fee refund or perhaps argue that you paid an extra month’s worth of fees once you have the points.

    I am Afraid but what has been reported about people that received the email and did not qualify, it was simply that they should not have received the email as they indeed did not qualify (they had both products open before the promotion was launched). For me, I had Barclays Premier Avios (I have been a Barclays customer for over 25 years, Premier for about 10, so only had a reduced bonus to switch from Blue Rewards to Premier rewards shortly after it was launched in the first place), but I specifically switched my Barclaycard (legacy cashback) to Avios Plus for the promotion well before the closing date, and received the email confirmation at the same time as confirmation that my account had been switched). There is simply no way they can say I am not eligible, the system may not work automatically, that is the risk, and that is why I was enquiring it, but not because I thought I would miss out. If it comes to it, I have enough evidence to get it applied manually, you guys are over complicating things.

    PS: They have been overwhelmed with the whole Avios thing virtually since launch; not good from Barclays especially as some of it is self inflicted by basically removing the qualifying criteria from £75k min real income to “if you do not earn it you can fake it or pay £20 pm for it”; BTW how many people are actually over the 8 weeks from qualifying? That is when people are officially overdue the Avios bonus (so basically approx 6 months from signing up for the latest product of the two).

    Yes that’s totally fine to do as once the points are in your BAEC account there won’t be any clawing back.

    Great news, you’ll receive your 100,000 Avios bonus by the end of April. They’ll be added directly to your BAEC account, so you won’t see them in the app, T&Cs apply. Your Barclays Premier Team.

    Just received an SMS Message from Barclays:

    Great News, you’ll receive your 100,000 Avios bonus by the end of April. They’ll be added directly to your British Airways Executive Club account, so you won’t see them in the app.

    Same here. Applied on 26 Nov and initially received an email on 1 Dec confirming that I would receive the 100k after holding the accounts until 30 March.

    It looks like they’ve been doing these on a month-by-month basis based on when you applied.

    I upgraded to Premier on the 17th October and applied for the credit card on the same day. Was told to keep the accounts until 2 March. For some reason they started the 4 months calculation on 2 November. Well, 100k avios coming soon 🙂

    I was looking at this forum this morning wondering about where these 100,000 avios points were and decided to continute to be patient…

    Just received the text from Barclaycard saying I’ll receive the points by the end of April Whoo hooh!

    Opened accounts 29th Nov.
