Hi
Other half has an Amex Gold Credit opened pre Jun 2023 (Jan 2023).
I’ve only just clocked that this will soon have the £195 fee added on in the coming days as I forgot to diarise.
My current plan is:
1) Get her a Rewards Credit Card fee free
2) Use the 4x lounge passes for our trip away in a couple of weeks’ time
3) Cancel Gold before 29th Feb to guarantee pro-rata refund (even though date may slip – if she has used all 4 passes that’s good enough for us at this point).
4) Existing Reward points will stay active where they are till we need them.
Does that sound like it will work, and is there anything I’ve missed?
Thank you.
Ah thanks Maples – I did not forget to refer her…but I forgot to write that I had done!! Thanks 🙂
Also ensure that the Rewards card is added to the Gold card MR account to preserve the points (not automatic)
