I posted last week about the half-price Priority Pass available (still available) via Amazon Local. This costs £34 instead of £68 and gets you airport lounge access for £15 per visit.
(Priority Pass is an independent network of over 600 airport lounges across the world, although there is nothing in Heathrow Terminal 5!)
It is not a fantastic deal, though. Here are the rates and the standard UK price:
- 36,500 HHonors Points = Standard Membership (£69)
- 101,500 HHonors Points = Standard Plus Membership (£159)
- 161,500 HHonors Points = Prestige Membership (£259)
Standard Membership requires a £15 fee per visit and is the card than Amazon Local was selling. Standard Plus includes your first 10 lounge visits. Prestige includes unlimited lounge visits.
(Oddly, the version you get free with an American Express Platinum card is even better than the Prestige one, since that also allows you to bring a guest for free.)
Following the devaluation, I tend to value Hilton points at around 0.3p, although you can do better. This offer values them at well under 0.2p, which is terrible value for money!
Obviously, if you have huge numbers of Hilton HHonors points and no plans to use them, this does give you another option. For that reason alone, this offer should be welcomed. However, I would think twice before using it.
The Hilton press release is here. You will see that they are also offering a handful of Hilton points if you pay for a Priority Pass at full retail price.
