£50 UK Novotel rooms at 5.50pm – and how to stack them

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The Novotel brand owned by Accor is, apparently, 50 years old this year.

To celebrate, they are launching a huge sale of £50 rooms TODAY ONLY – at 5.50pm, for 50 minutes.

Details are a little sketchy – see this page of the Novotel website for details.

Novotel Canary Wharf

What I have gleaned from elsewhere is that £50 rooms will be available in 34 UK Novotel properties, including London, between 5.50pm and 6.40pm today (Wednesday).

moneysavingexpert says that the stay dates will be 1st July to 28th January 2018.

According to the Daily Mirror, these are the hotels included.  I am not sure if this is just a cut and paste of every UK Novotel or not!

I reviewed the London property at Blackfriars last year.  It is very impressive and even has a decent pool.  The Canary Wharf hotel is brand new – it literally only opened a few weeks ago – and you would get a good result if you stayed there I’m sure.  I might even try to bag it for a review.

How to stack this with two current promotions

There are two deals which will stack with this offer and make your room even cheaper than £50.

Offer 1 – register here – gets you 500 bonus Accor points on your first UK Accor stay after registering and 1,000 extra Accor points on your 2nd UK Accor stay

Offer 2 – ‘triple or quadruple Accor points’ on every stay (full details in this article, register here) if you are staying before 3rd September

Full details of this offer are on the Novotel website here.

Managed to get two rooms (Glasgow on a Weds and York on a Saturday), and afterwards (when double checking the deal against other hotels), noticed that Trivago has hotels.com and booking dot com price matching this. Did anyone go through those sites and find it easier?

  • Eli Gold says:

just booked at Excel after 47 minutes trying

  • Gavin says:

I booked Waterloo for a Saturday December but I think it crashed on payment and a weekend in Edinburgh for my birthday which appeared to go through but doesn’t show as a booking yet

Going to call it a day, what shocking IT Accor have!

  • lee says:

not sure mine has gone though as it says

    “Your reservation is being confirmed.

You will receive a confirmation email when payment is accepted by your bank.”

    • AndyGWP says:

My first hotel booking said that, but it’s dropped thru as confirmed about an hour later 🙂

    • Gavin says:

Had that message for my Edinburgh booking, now confirmed and showing in App. No luck for my London booking tho, never mind!

  • PJH says:

Managed to make two bookings, Leeds in Sep and Edinburgh in Nov. Took a lot of patience but got both for £50

  • Melvin says:

I don’t understand how any one got a room? I checked three or four hotels (via the special link) and none were offered at £50. Yet it said all standard rooms!

    • Susan says:

My first check for Canary Wharf had no standard rooms for date, but were available for next day which I was able to book and confirm.

    • Rob says:

I agree that it was particularly poor wording because there were always going to be black-out dates in place.

  • Mike says:

Canary Wharf Novotel is worth a visit. Great bar up on the 38th floor.

  • Paul says:

Very disappointing from Accor. Site was slow but managed to get through and try and book several sites over several dates. I was trying to book 1 room for 2 adults and 2 children. This evidently is not a “standard room” but a “standard room with sofa bed” so outside of the promotion. I frequently use Novotel for the family friendly rooms so it was disappointing that they effectively excluded families from this offer. Bring back Happy Mondays!
