£50 UK Novotel rooms at 5.50pm – and how to stack them

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The Novotel brand owned by Accor is, apparently, 50 years old this year.

To celebrate, they are launching a huge sale of £50 rooms TODAY ONLY – at 5.50pm, for 50 minutes.

Details are a little sketchy – see this page of the Novotel website for details.

Novotel Canary Wharf

What I have gleaned from elsewhere is that £50 rooms will be available in 34 UK Novotel properties, including London, between 5.50pm and 6.40pm today (Wednesday).

moneysavingexpert says that the stay dates will be 1st July to 28th January 2018.

According to the Daily Mirror, these are the hotels included.  I am not sure if this is just a cut and paste of every UK Novotel or not!

I reviewed the London property at Blackfriars last year.  It is very impressive and even has a decent pool.  The Canary Wharf hotel is brand new – it literally only opened a few weeks ago – and you would get a good result if you stayed there I’m sure.  I might even try to bag it for a review.

How to stack this with two current promotions

There are two deals which will stack with this offer and make your room even cheaper than £50.

Offer 1 – register here – gets you 500 bonus Accor points on your first UK Accor stay after registering and 1,000 extra Accor points on your 2nd UK Accor stay

Offer 2 – ‘triple or quadruple Accor points’ on every stay (full details in this article, register here) if you are staying before 3rd September

Full details of this offer are on the Novotel website here.

    What a load of xxxxx

Spent most of the time from right at the start to having the rooms check availability and technical error.

Great PR stunt and once again Joe public is left with a sour taste in his mouth

the website was slow indeed but I have booked few nights on iPhone App no problem

  • Ali H says:

Thanks for the heads up on this. Got a couple of Friday night stays in July in Blackfriars and Canary Wharf.

The mobile site kept crashing but it was a pretty easy booking experience on the Accorhotels iOS app

  • Chris Cannon says:

Likewise with many readers. Tried 4 different london hotels. Nothing!

  • Capecam says:

After a shaky start, and lots of crashes, I managed to get a 3 night weekend at Blackfriars for 50 a night, and a 3 night at the start of January in Paddington. Rooms reverted to £220 a night and £187 after the close out, so pretty chuffed. Thanks for the tip off Rob.£1150 quids worth of rooms for £300

  • Mark e says:

Managed to make three Saturday night bookings for London in autumn (Blackfriars, Canary Wharf and City South) , website was painfully slow but manged to get them via the accor app.

  • Kerry Kenton-clarke says:

Congrats to people that managed to get a reservation. I planned on trying for Canary Wharf for one night in December as I have a birthday present at the O2! However, thanks to SIRI, I never managed to check during the 50 minute window … I set a reminder via SIRI and it never alerted me!! Checked it afterwards (when I finally remembered) and it was definitely set for 5.30 today (giving me a 20 minute ‘heads up’). Damn technology!! LOL

  • Mark Beattie says:

I managed to book a room only for the system to say it was ‘Pending’. Over night it came back as not being booked. Seems like a bit of a con to me.

  • Jon says:

I managed to book a room too and got an email saying it was pending. Like you Mark overnight i got an email saying it was not confirmed. I rang Accor this morning and they could see that it had been cancelled but couldn’t tell me why and the guy said that there had been a lot of calls on this so far this morning but that UK Reservations were not open yet so they would raise a ticket and get back to me. Shocking promotion really….
