    QATAR AIRWAYS
Spend £800 or more, get £80 back
Save to Card to get a £80 statement credit on eligible spend of £800+ online at Qatar Airways by 30 September 2017

For Anyone planning to use 10% and above Amex Costco offer.

    • Rob says:

Odd, not on any of our combined Amex cards. Apparently there is also a new Hilton offer out there as well, which isn’t available to me or my Mrs.

      • Sussex bantam says:

I’ve got the hilton one on my gold. Spend 250 to get 3000 points by November 3rd. It’s only at participating hotels in Europe – although quite big U.K. representation

List of hotels is too long to cut and paste but I’m happy to check list if anyone wants to know if it is worth asking Amex to add to their card …

        • Crafty says:

I have an upcoming Hilton stay which would qualify but for that the hotel has charged my card in advance.

Chances of getting them to refund my original card and then charge the spend again through this one?

  • Rob says:

    Sorry OT

If I need to book hotels in October but Hilton/Marriott promotions haven’t been released for those dates, am I best to wait till they do?

Does anyone know typically how long this might be as I believe current promo’s only cover up to September.

    Thanks

    • totaltool says:

Not even sure any offers go into Seprember. I have booked fkexibly so I can cancel and rebook if a better deal comes along. I have lost out before.

    • Alan says:

With Hilton any previously made bookings have always been eligible so if you’re happy with price and hotel then just make booking. If unsure or would change booking dependent on offer then make sure it’s a flexible booking!

  • Johnny_c-l says:

OT New Hilton offer on my PRG card this morning too:

    HILTON
Spend £250 or more, earn 3000 MR points

    Valid till 3rd Nov

  • Jon says:

31st August: last day to redeem Virgin Flying Club miles on Malaysia Airlines.

  • Alex W says:

OT. Mrs W and I have just reached the great milestone of a million points & miles. Many thanks to Rob and Anika otherwise we wouldn’t have half as many!

  • Pid says:

OT – Just maxed out on the 2,000 avios per Hilton Stay with BA. I recall it was mentioned that there is a similar offer with Iberia but can not recall if you need to register or just change earning preferences. Can anyone confirm?

Despite the t&cs stating otherwise, my stay in HK did count for the BA avios points which was good news. 🙂

    • Rob says:

Seems you need to register BUT there is no form! Requires calling or tweeting HH who are highly likely to have no clue.

  • Bach says:

OT – staying at Holiday Inn Cambridge next week end and just got Platinum status. How does the complimentary upgrade work? Will it be offered at check in (if available) or do I need to ask? Is it worth calling in advance to increase chances?
Thanks for your help (and thanks HFP, have been a reader for 6 months with significant change in my travel experience… and this is my first post :))

    • Alex W says:

I stayed there last week as Spire and got a room with 2 King beds and a sofa bed. Booked a standard room, didn’t ask for any sort of upgrade. Other than some welcome points, that was it. I wasn’t charged for breakfast but I think that was an error as opposed to a benefit. I am not sure Holiday Inn are required to give any room upgrades for IHG status holders. No harm in emailing in advance but don’t expect a suite or lounge access as I don’t think the hotel has any. Good luck.

  • Nick says:

    With Hilton…
    1. Any idea whether you can force the website to charge in £? I want to take a prepaid deal with the Amex offer but ideally not take a FX hit if I do…
    2. I can’t open the T&C from the app. Can someone please kindly check if Tallinn is in?

    • Peter K says:

      No sorry, not Tallinn.
Only some hotels from Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK.

    • Johnny_c-l says:

Not sure about the FX….there is/was a drop down that showed a different currency but don’t know if that follows through to booking/invoice.

Estonia not on the list unfortunately, but three Helsinki Hilton hotels (Strand, Airport, Kalastajatorpantie) on there which be an option instead?

    • Alex W says:

I would be surprised if the exchange rate on the Hilton website was any better than your credit card?

      • Alan says:

The rates quoted on the Hilton website probably ARE better, however that’s because they’re just indicative using current exchange rates (and thus don’t have the 3% Amex forex fee). However your actual booking will be made in the home currency of the hotel (or in some markets USD if the home currency has regularly fluctuating rates), so please don’t think that just by getting it to show you GBP for a hotel abroad will mean your get charged in GBP!

    • TGLoyalty says:

FYI Tallin triggered the deal last year and wasn’t on the list then eithet

      • Nick says:

Hmmmm interesting!! Was the deal identical otherwise? May be worth a punt if so. Dismayed it’s not on the master list though.

Thanks all for your help. Unfortunately this is an actual trip to Tallinn not just a TP run so Helsinki isn’t suitable, can’t face the ferry over two days in a row!
