UPDATE – APRIL 2024:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Club Carlson, the Radisson / Park Inn / Park Plaza group, has a good promotion to encourage you to book with their mobile app.  To be honest, I thought this had gone away but it appears it is still being quietly promoted in a corner of the Carlson website.

You will earn 3,000 bonus Club Carlson points for the first cash stay you book via the Club Carlson app.

Radisson Heathrow Hotel entrance (2)

It is valid for any paid stay at Quorvus Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson RED, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn and Country Inns & Suites hotel worldwide worldwide.

I tend to value Club Carlson points at 0.33p each, based on redeeming 70,000 points for a £200 – £250 five-star hotel.  This means that the bonus points are worth £9 which is an excellent return, especially on cheap Park Inn stays.

This offer should also double up with any other Club Carlson promotion, although they do not have a global offer running at the moment.

Full details can be found on the Club Carlson website here.

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Premium status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.

OT – I am trying to work out the best way to send Avios to someone else who’s not in my household account.

What’s the cheapest way to do it? Is it only possible through ba.com?

    • Rob says:

You need to use the ‘transfer’ function on ba.com. Free if you are Gold, pathetically expensive (enough to make it almost useless) otherwise.

  • Rob says:

    In need of desperate help!

I just stupidly booked over 30 nights at a Hilton in Singapore instead of the intended 3 nights on a completely non-refundable/changeable rate.

I called they’re UK number immediately and the call centre advisor said I could Email the hotel directly but that they would not have to honour it.

What are my emergency measures here? It’s over £3k. Should I call my bank and decline any transactions?

    Thanks

    • Rob says:

You can call your bank and argue the charge, although technically you don’t have much of an excuse. I doubt the hotel will sue though.
