EXCLUSIVE HFP COMPETITION: Win 250,000 Qmiles with Qatar Airways!

Qatar Airways is running another great exclusive competition with us.  This is the most generous mileage competition we have ever run!

Two lucky Head for Points readers will each win 250,000 Qmiles in the Qatar Airways Privilege Club loyalty scheme.

There are no restrictions on how you use the Qmiles.  You can redeem for First Class, Business Class or Economy Class flights and to any destination you choose.  You can book on Qatar Airways or on any oneworld alliance or other airline partner.  You can book one big trip or a number of smaller trips (the miles are valid for three years).  It is entirely up to you.

Whilst it is always difficult to value airline miles, you should easily be able to get £2,500 of value from the prize.

About Qatar Airways

Before we look at what you can get for 250,000 Qmiles, let’s remind ourselves what else Qatar Airways has been up to recently:

We have reviewed Qatar Airways business class on its 777, 787 and A380 incarnations, as well as A380 First Class, and genuinely believe that it deserves its reputation as one of the very best products out there.

The new Qsuite in Business Class has set the bar even higher.   Here is my report from the launch event and here is Rob’s article after he had lunch on the aircraft at Heathrow.

About Qmiles

Qatar Airways is a member of the oneworld alliance.   As we always say when we write about Qatar Airways, this means that you can earn Avios points and British Airways tier points when you fly with Qatar Airways, and can also redeem Avios points for Qatar Airways services.

But Qatar Airways also has its own loyalty programme, Privilege Club, with its own currency, Qmiles.  This offers an alternative for crediting flights on Qatar Airways and other oneworld airlines.

You can learn more about Qmiles and Qatar Privilege Club on the Qatar Airways website here.

How far could 250,000 Qmiles take you?

The world is your oyster with 250,000 Qmiles in your pocket.

Here are just a few places you could travel with 250,000 Qmiles to spend, based on a UK departure:

  • one return ticket to Singapore in Business for 150,000 Qmiles
  • one return ticket to Sydney in Business for 180,000 Qmiles
  • two return tickets to Delhi in Business for 2 x 110,000 Qmiles
  • top up with a further 20,000 Qmiles and get three return tickets in Economy to Sydney

These prices are based on flying with Qatar Airways.  However, you can also spend Qmiles on flight redemptions on British Airways or any other airline in the oneworld alliance.  This could include Cathay Pacific, Qantas, American Airlines, Finnair etc.  You can also redeem on other partners such as Royal Air Maroc, Middle Eastern Airlines, GOL and Bangkok Airways.

If you have a handful of miles left, you can use them to pay for your purchases at the Qatar Duty Free shop at Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Alternatively, Qmiles can be converted into Le Club AccorHotels hotel loyalty points at the rate of 4500 to 1000, with a maximum conversion of 100,000 Qmiles per year.

Here is the Mileage Calculator to look at other route options.

Our competition

There are TWO prizes of 250,000 Qmiles to be won.

The Qmiles are valid for three years.

The winner is responsible for any and all taxes, fees, security and passenger facility charges applicable when redeeming your Qmiles.  Liability with regards to visa, passport and health requirements rest solely with the winning participants.

Accommodation, airport transfers and other travel expenses are not included when redeeming the prize and are the responsibility of the winning participant.

Bonus Qmiles are non-extendable, non-transferable to another person, non-exchangeable and cannot be converted to cash.

The full list of rules is in the Gleam entry widget below.

How to enter

We are using the same entry system we’ve been using for competitions in the past.  Simply fill out the Gleam app at the bottom of this post (or click through to the Gleam website) and leave your name and email address.  That’s it.

Your details remain confidential and will not be passed to Qatar Airways (unless you win!).  Head for Points will not use your email address for any other purpose.

You do not need to have a Qatar Privilege Club account in order to enter, although obviously the winners will have to open one!

The rules

Here is a summary of the rules. The official version can be found by clicking ‘Terms & Conditions’ in the entry widget below.

You must be at least 18 years old

You must be a resident of the United Kingdom and must be accessing this website from inside the UK

You must not have been a previous winner of any other of Qatar Airways’ promotions or competitions

Entries are limited to one per person

The competition closes at midnight, London time, on Sunday 4th March 2018

The two winners will be selected automatically by the software which collates the entries. The winners will be contacted by email and must confirm their details, including their UK residency, within 14 days.

Remember that Qmiles are not transferable and will only be deposited into accounts in the name of the winners

Great competition, thanks folks. Both of us will be entering, got a friend doing the new Q-Suite later this year.

ps Minor typo?, Qatar Q-Suite was released just last year, so at ITB event in March 2017? (not 2016)

  • Alan says:

Looks like Privilege Club is moving entirely online in the next month or so (see OMAAT article) so here’s hoping they boost their IT otherwise these miles could be slightly trickier to spend given the current 96h turnaround for online redemption requests!

  • Tilly says:

    Entered. Fingers crossed!

  • James says:

Can the winner swap the miles for a decent QR customer services contact ?????!
Especially for award redemptions and QMiles account issues……..given they’ve just gone completely online for that; no human contact possible !!!!!

  • Jamainky says:

Morning! Competition apparently not available in my region (me and Mrs G currently on a break to NYC) – any way around this, please? Thanks

  • JamesB says:

Hope that black cat I saw at the weekend is significant, thaks HFP.

    • Polly says:

Hi James…how did it work out with your partner’s avios downgrade the other day? We are safely checked for our F 241 here in KUL. Hope we get to land in the morning.
Great comp…but their request system is so awful. In fact they really need to up their ante big time when trying soend q miles. Total nightmare.

      • JamesB says:

It didn’t, check in agent offered nothing, even failed to check for better seats, she was totally disinterested and busy gossiping with her colleagues. I challenged her on it but she claimed no entitlement to a goodwill gesture because AF and KLM were different companies according to her. A whole lot of nonsense culminating in offer of a £5 F&B voucher which was declined, it was hard to take the whole exchange seriously. A claim for refund and also the promised goodwill gesture was submitted online today.
Did you take the train to Butterworth? Hope you had a safe and pleasant journey home.

Quite some prize! Entered and here’s hoping ????

OT: is anyone having issues with Clubcard to Avios transfers taking an age? I know it’s up to 28 days but I don’t recall them being longer than 1 week. Anyone having similar issues?
