Marriott Rewards has launched some new concert tickets for their suite at the O2 Arena in Greenwich.

The catered box at the O2 is not a bad place to see a concert, as my review here shows. The food and drink on offer is excellent, albeit you are some distance from the stage.

This is a list of the concerts available as of last night.  The first few listed have been around for a while, but there are some good new options for November onwards.

As bits, anyone recently been to any of the lounges at Vienna airport? I’ve read Anika’s review (thank you) from 2016. Flying on QR in J.

  • Bob says:

    Hi Rob,

    Just received this:

We’ve noticed that you haven’t turned your Tesco Clubcard points into Avios recently.

Did you know that if you use your Clubcard points before 15 November, we’ll give you a bonus 1,000 Avios reward? That’s an extra boost for your Avios balance to put towards your next holiday.

All you need to do is shop at Tesco and turn at least £5.00 worth of Clubcard points into Avios. Remember, you’ll also collect 600 Avios for every £2.50 worth of Clubcard points you use.

    • Owain says:

Hopefully Virgin will feel the need to launch a competing offer…

      • Shoestring says:

I’ll convert £5 from our 2 a/cs just to give it a go. Doesn’t sound like there’s an opt in button to press first, though of course they might have another way to grant eligibility.

    • Andy S says:

I came here to report that too. When are the next points issued? before then I hope !

  • Nick_C says:

Am I understanding this right? If I top up my CC account with £200, I will get £212 of CC vouchers in November? That converts (at 2.4) to 50880 Avios, at a cost of less than 0.4p per avios.

If I pay for the top up with an Amex then that’s a further 200/250/300 Avios.

If I pay with my Tesco debit card instead then its an extra 200 CCP / 480 Avios

Looks like a very cheap way to buy 20000 Avios, and a small step to my next spending target.

Rob – how about an article on this as well?

    Xmas has come early!

    • Choons says:

You can’t usually convert xmas savings vouchers into boost things, like avios, unfortunately.

      • Nick_C says:

Thanks. I just found a Shopper Points article about it from June.

“Christmas savers top-up vouchers cannot be used on Clubcard partners or converted into Airmiles/BA miles.”

    • Jordie says:

You can’t convert the vouchers directly into avios.

  • Gavin says:

OT – 20% bonus for clubcard conversions to BAEC – just had an email

    • Shoestring says:

BJ – anything to say about that? 🙂

      • Shoestring says:

The current collection period is 20/07/2018 – 18/10/2018

      • BJ says:

LOL, I am scanning the sky as I type… : ) I got very very lucky Harry, the other day I almost promised you that I would spill the beans on peaches for 0p each if you were right…in a moment of enlightenment I thought better of it and deleted the sentence before posting so my secret is safe for now.

        • Shoestring says:

          Fanciful, eh Raffles? 🙂

        • Shoestring says:

Well, there’s a chance the 20% bonus could just be for auto converters, & only for this quarter’s Clubcard points. That’s the noise I’m hearing, happy to be proven wrong of course.

    • Genghis says:

I got a 1k bonus if transfer min £5. At my alternative of using for Uber, I make that 0.68ppa, about the price at which I don’t mind buying.

    • New Card says:

Are all of these targetted offers? I haven’t received any email.

      • Shoestring says:

        Doubt it

        • dimitri says:

          I also haven’t received anything.

What is actually the best strategy for clubcard points – is it to convert them automatically or wait?

        • Shoestring says:

Always wait – gives you freedom to choose. Can be a good idea to opt for auto convert option with Virgin miles as they can sometimes give you 1000 miles for choosing that option. You don’t actually need to convert, so make a note of the Tesco Clubcard Quarter dates (online in your points a/c) & turn off auto convert a few days before the quarter end. Keep points alive/ be aware of expiry dates.

  • Stuart says:

Does anyone know if the Amex Green chargecard is eligible for the platinum upgrade offer?

    • Rob MC says:

When signed in to your amex click the upgrade link and it should show you cards you can upgrade, or if you can’t will tell you. ..Hopefully anyway

      • Stuart says:

Reason for asking – I don’t have the green card, but was wondering if it might be a pathway now tha PRGC is gone….

        • guesswho2000 says:

If you’re going to do that though, you might as well just apply for the Platinum card directly for the higher bonus, surely?!

        • Stuart says:

Not if the £450 fee is “forgotten”…

  • Darren says:

    OT, SPG Amex.

Cancelled my SPG card today and the CS agent said that any points would be transferred to my SPG/Marriott account. My sept transfer is currently in the ether between the two so I’ll wait and see, to be honest I’m not that bothered really.

    • Genghis says:

IME, SPG points do (did) transfer post cancellation.

      • Darren says:

Thanks, I’ll update this if I get them.

      • BJ says:

+1 but any points in the current climate will fell like a 100% bonus.

      • Crafty says:

They promised me my outstanding points would still come through when I cancelled about a month ago. The agent also specifically told me the BA cards are the only ones for which final month points are forfeited upon cancellation.

  • Dave Barron says:

Off Topic – Had email from Amex today offering me 4000 MR points if I spend £100 or more online during October with certain retailers (including Debenhams.com and Boots.com). Despite email received offer doesn’t yet appear on my account so ive done a webchat to have added. Apparently there are 3 offers being added to cards from today – ranging from a £50 spend for 2000 points, £100 spend for 4000 points and also £250 spend for 7000 points, Worth checking online and via the App to see if you have them!

    • BJ says:

Thanks, hopefully those of us who missed out last time will get offers now.

    • Rob says:

My wife got the email and it’s not on her account either.

    • Chris says:

Feel robbed now as only 5000 points on £250 spend for me at those same retailers.

      • David says:

I got the 2000 points for spending £50 email, and clicked to save, but it’s been allocated to my only non-MR earning Amex account!

        • Dave Barron says:

That’s exactly what happened to me (and not for the first time either!). I did a webchat and as part of that had to send a screenshot of the email as “proof”. Within 48 hours offer should then be applied to correct account.

  • Dave Barron says:

OT – I have both a PRGC and a BAPP – which is best card to self refer for the Amex Nectar card? Also what is historically the best sign up offer on the Nectar card? Thanks in advance!

    • Genghis says:

If you transfer MR to avios anyway, tomato tomato. Do you want 9k MR or 9k avios? 9k MR are more valuable for their pluripotentiality.

      • Dave Barron says:

Indeed thanks – looks like MR is the best route, just wasn’t sure if both were 9K – many thanks

      • Darren says:

@Genghis Wow, now there’s a word you don’t here every day.

    • BJ says:

In October of the previous two years there have been substantial signup boosts via links on nectar accounts so keep an eye on yours. I did not bother waiting this year, preferring to take 18k self referral from platinum.
