Hilton Honors has just launched its new spring promotion, Points Unlimitedwhich is now open for registration.

To give Hilton credit, it is very straightforward with minimal small print:

You will earn 2,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay between 4th January and 5th May.

Even better, you will earn an additional 10,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for every FIVE stays OR TEN nights you complete, whichever comes first.

There is no cap to what you can earn and there are no minimum stay requirements.  The bonus should also trigger on reward stays given how similar promotions have worked in the past.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your spending here.

Someone who only ever spends one night at a time in a hotel would be earning – when you include the 10,000 bonus points per five stays – 4,000 bonus points per stayI would value that at £13 which is a VERY good return especially as it doesn’t include your base points or any status bonus.

You can register for the offer here.

There is no small print except that you need to register in advance via the Hilton website:

There is no minimum stay requirement

Existing bookings still count

All Hilton Family properties (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf-Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part – there is no list of non-participating hotels – except for Hampton properties in China

Hilton Honors double points Autumn 2018

Remember that Hilton is still offering a status match

If you have top tier status with another hotel programme, Hilton Honors will give you a 90 day free trial of Hilton Diamond or Gold status.

You need to supply a screenshot showing your top tier status in another programme (Wyndham Rewards excluded) plus a screenshot showing a paid stay in the previous 12 months.

If you complete eight stays (note it is stays, not nights) during the 90 days you will keep your Diamond status until 31st March 2020.  If you only manage four stays you will receive Gold status until 31st March 2020.  In reality, if you complete the challenge after 1st January 2019 I would expect that your status would last until 31st March 2021.

Conclusion

2,000 bonus points per stay is a decent offer, especially for someone who tends to do short stays.  The additional 10,000 points carrot for every five stays or 10 nights is a worthwhile extra bonus.  If your hotel stays are generally just for one night then you should seriously consider moving them (in chunks of five) to Hilton this Spring.

Make sure you register here if you have any Hilton stays coming up over the next four months.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 5th May.

Let’s see what IHG and Marriott / Starwood launch to compete with this ….

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (October 2024)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here. You can apply for either card here.

We’ve booked an All Inclusive hotel in the Dominican Republic that has just been taken over by Hilton. I presume this would now count for this offer?
I am also currently unable to register. I get a message saying ‘sorry we missed you, this offer is now closed ‘ or something similar

    • AnnetteT says:

I have just tried to register but get the ‘sorry we missed you message’ – have you received any update on this? Thanks

  • JPV says:

I guess that marriott/spg “gold elite” will match to hilton gold, not hilton plat?

Wish there was a status that came with amex plat that would match to hilton plat for the chellenge!

Bargain points redemption last night at a Hampton Inn in Florida, only 10k, if it were in the promo that could have been as low as 6k

  • B K Andersen says:

Oh, bad old IHG. I bought points and cried as I was trying to spend them on my stays. The hotels are often tired, very tired. However, what I don’t like is that they would enter your room without knocking. It scares me. And it happened to me when at the shower. A person came in with chocolates. It’s bizzare

    • Rob says:

In all seriousness, I would happily trade off someone entering my room whilst I was showering if I got a free box of chocolates out of it ….

  • FlyUpTop says:

The issue at the moment, are Hilton actually crediting points now since their lasted IT update? I’m still waiting on a missing UK from four weeks ago.

  • Rob says:

They did buy me a very expensive lunch yesterday 🙂

    • Alan says:

Did you tell them how poor their AMB changes were 😛

      • Rob says:

I did. It turns out that the Ambassador programme is run out of the UK office so it seemed a good opportunity.

        • Alan says:

Ah nice one – any reaction from them or just they’ll take your comments on board? 😉

  • Adam says:

There was an email yesterday evening.
