Hilton Honors has just launched its new Spring promotion, Points Unlimitedwhich is now open for registration.

To give Hilton credit, it is very straightforward with minimal small print:

You will earn 2,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay between 4th January and 5th May.

Even better, you will earn an additional 10,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for every FIVE stays OR TEN nights you complete, whichever comes first.

There is no cap to what you can earn and there are no minimum stay requirements.  The bonus should also trigger on reward stays given how similar promotions have worked in the past.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your spending here.  Someone who only ever spends one night at a time in a hotel would be earning – when you include the 10,000 bonus points per five stays – 4,000 bonus points per stayI would value that at £13 which is a VERY good return especially as it doesn’t include your base points or any status bonus.

You can register for the offer here.

Hilton Points Unlimited

There is no small print except that you need to register in advance via the Hilton website:

There is no minimum stay requirement

Existing bookings still count

All Hilton Family properties (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf-Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part – there is no list of non-participating hotels – except for Hampton properties in China

Hilton Honors double points Autumn 2018

Remember that Hilton is still offering a status match

If you have top tier status with another hotel programme, Hilton Honors will give you a 90 day free trial of Hilton Diamond or Gold status.

You need to supply a screenshot showing your top tier status in another programme (Wyndham Rewards excluded) plus a screenshot showing a paid stay in the previous 12 months.

If you complete eight stays (note it is stays, not nights) during the 90 days you will keep your Diamond status until 31st March 2020.  If you only manage four stays you will receive Gold status until 31st March 2020.  In reality, if you complete the challenge after 1st January 2019 I would expect that your status would last until 31st March 2021.

Conclusion

2,000 bonus points per stay is a decent offer, especially for someone who tends to do short stays.  The additional 10,000 points carrot for every five stays or 10 nights is a worthwhile extra bonus.  If your hotel stays are generally just for one night then you should seriously consider moving them (in chunks of five) to Hilton this Spring.

Make sure you register here if you have any Hilton stays coming up over the next four months.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 5th May.

Let’s see what IHG and Marriott / Starwood launch to compete with this ….

  • Oli says:

Do you think the promotion applies to Hilton properties booked through booking.com? And does Hilton honour status benefits on these bookings in general?

    • Louise says:

Some hotels will honour status benefits when you show status on check in. I’ve had them honour bookings made via Amex and Lastminute before

    • Rhi says:

The promotion 100% will not apply to bookings on booking.com.

    • Anna says:

I’ve had status recognised on bookings made via BA at the Hilton Manchester Airport. I’ve also got an upcoming stay at an HGI in Rome via BA holidays where they have added my HH number to the booking and confirmed 2 x free breakfast.

    • TM says:

Would be interested to know if this will work if I book through Amex Travel? To take advantage of the offer

  • Gary says:

    Oops! We’ve encountered a problem.
Our online registration isn’t working at the moment.

  • Andijs says:

Links not currently working so can’t sign up 🙁

  • Doug says:

Reward stays DO now appear to be credited toward status. Like others, I had been experiencing issues where reward stays were not being credited toward status, though points were correctly being deducted. I did complain via email (was told this would lead to a faster resolution than the phone.) Have had 1 reward night credited and latest reward night automatically credited toward status.

  • AndyGWP says:

OT – just realised my Lufthansa points never posted from my Hilton stay (in October!) – should they have done by now? and who should I chase? anyone else had beef getting them?

(apols for posting twice – I actually meant to post this within the Hilton thread! duh!)

    • Jay says:

@AndyGWP – I had the same issue. Beginning of December I followed up with HH support via twitter (@hiltonhonors) and they gave me Hilton points as a substitute for the MM points because the promotion was closed.

  • Yau says:

Does it included paying with point stay?

  • Dr Tom says:

They were totally unhelpful for me here too. I booked a reward stay as the last stay I needed to retain Diamond. Didn’t host.

Two separate attempts to contact Customer Services and they told me that this was correct and reward stays do not count.

I can’t find anything to say that’s changed.

I have since booked an extra (cheap) paid stay that I didn’t need to maintain Diamond, but I shouldn’t have had to have done. But there was no chance of getting anywhere with Hilton Customer Services.

  • CherylD says:

I’ve just tried to register via the link twice. Each time I’ve received a message saying ‘sorry we missed you. This promotion is now over.’
    Anyone else having this problem?
