Avios Ireland: 50% bonus Avios in AerClub with SuperValu

Links on Head for Points pay us an affiliate commission. A list of our partners is here.

As a reminder, our coverage of Avios Ireland (AerClub) is exclusively on the Head for Points website.  You will not receive these articles via our daily emails unless it is a deal which UK residents can take part in.

Whilst Tesco has a major presence in Ireland, AerClub has teamed up with supermarket chain SuperValu.

We have written about the relationship between SuperValu and AerClub a few times.

You earn one Real Rewards point for every €1 you spend in SuperValu.  You can convert Real Rewards points on Money Back vouchers into Avios at the rate of 1:1.  This makes it roughly half as generous as the Tesco partnership which gets you 2.4 Avios per £1 spent.

Aer Club and Real Rewards have teamed up to offer another transfer bonus.  Until 3rd February, you will get 50% bonus Avios when converting Real Rewards points into Avios

This means 1 Real Rewards point is worth 1.5 Avios.

(Regular readers will have spotted a worrying pattern in these bonuses.  They started off as triple Avios.  The last couple have been double Avios.  We are now down to 50% bonus Avios …..)

The minimum transfer level is 50 Real Rewards points or a €2.50 Money Back Voucher.

Full details can be found on the Aer Club site here.

  1. Supervalue/AerClub lost cause. Anyone with an Aldi or Lidl nearby a supervalue have defected, cost wise. AerClub themselves very hard to,deal, with. Staff don’t even understand their own program.
Useful tho for us here on this forum as an intermediary for transferring avios earned elsewhere Iberia etc…

  2. 2 points per € if you link and use your BOI CC to pay. Makes it slightly more palatable when you’re buying your chickpea pasta

  3. SuperValu make you cash in your points or change them into vouchers in the lead up to Christmas. You then have to either use the vouchers there and then or change them into Avios before they go out of date before the end of year. This means that we can only convert the Avios we earned before the end of year as 1 point for €1 and only convert January’s points for 1.5 points for every € 1. It’s not as generous as it was before.
