60 families can join Hilton Honors for a day out at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Hilton Honors runs occasional tours of the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, where you can see the Formula 1 and production cars close up.

These trips are expensive (100,000 Hilton Honors points per pair) and during the day, usually during term time.  This means they are not great for children.

McLaren and Hilton have now launched a low-cost event especially for families.

Take a look here.

Hilton is organising a Hilton Family Day on Saturday 27th July.  To quote:

“Join Hilton at their exclusive Family Day event at the McLaren Technology Centre with our McLaren Formula 1 and Golf partners. Hosted at the home of one of motorsport’s most prestigious facilities, you and your family will have behind-the-scenes access to McLaren’s state of the art HQ, as well as life on Tour experiences and golf tips told by Hilton Golf Ambassador and Ryder Cup star Jamie Donaldson.

Your family will have the opportunity to take part in a range of unique experiential activities, including tours of the MTC Boulevard, walking among the historical Formula 1 cars, setting a new time in the Pit Stop Challenge, the chance to test golfing skills on the renowned Hilton Bedroom Chipping experience and to try and beat a pro on the ultimate golfing simulator, plus much more! Your family can also take advantage of a range of food and refreshments on offer throughout the day, as well as a variety of giveaways and prizes to be won!”

The package includes (for FOUR people):

Exclusive access to the McLaren Technology Centre on July 27, 2019, between 11:00am – 4:00pm
Tours of the MTC Boulevard to walk among the historical Formula 1 cars
Meet and greet with Hilton Golf Ambassador, Jamie Donaldson
Pit stop challenge
Hilton Bedroom Chipping Experience
The Ultimate Golfing Simulator
Virtual reality experience
Prizes and giveaways
Refreshments and snacks served throughout the event
Return transfers from Woking Train Station

There are 60 packages available, priced at 25,000 Hilton Honors points per packageGiven that I value a Hilton point at 0.33p, you are effectively ‘paying’ £85 for the full package above for four people.  This seems like a good deal to me.

You can redeem your Hilton Honors points for the McLaren family package here.

Same day as the German GP. Very tempted to take the kids even though I’ve been as they are a customer.

    • Martin N says:

We are all booked and it seems like it will be a fantastic day out for the family. Thanks for the heads up.

As I am travelling up from the north, I need to decide if we should stay at Hilton Woking or Hilton Cobham (which looks a bit dated). I hopefully should also get 12% cash back from the Hilton stay booking with my Visa Debit (First Direct) and their visa offers.

11 packages left at 9am. HFP must be snapping them up.

The Doubletree in Woking is close to Woking station if you wanted to use the free transfer. Parking is limited though, unless you use the public car park nearby. It’s town centre of course. Hilton Cobham is more rural, but fine if you’re travelling by car (about 15-20 minutes drive to McLaren). It’s got family rooms and some nice grounds too, which should be enjoyable in July.

        • Martin N says:

Thanks Nick, I have stayed at the Woking DoubleTree (and even when it was the Holiday Inn) and parking there did seem to be an issue. The family rooms and free parkig (and pool!) at Cobham might just swing it for me. I am looking forward to the tour, it is a bargain at 25k points.

      • johnny_c-l says:

Hilton Cobham is a dump – avoid! Stayed there a few times for work events, some rooms are OK but most awful, lots of mold in the bathrooms and generally a poor Hilton.

      Qualifying?

  • Charlie says:

Great – thanks for making us all aware. I’ve grabbed a place and watched them shrink form 40 when I looked first thing to 15 now.

Nice to see some of you there. Does anyone know if a baby counts as a guest? Or are they too small to ‘count’ on the max. 4 people allowed?

  • Chrisasaurus says:

Double edged sword – hooray they’re doing it in the holidays, boo they’re doing it while we’re away on our hols (thanks Iberia 90k avios 🙂

How terribly inconsiderate of them, perhaps I missed their call checking on my availability before setting the date…

  • rams1981 says:

thanks for this. Looking at terms can be 4 adults as well I think. Just says any child needs to be accompanied by an adult.

  • Nick says:

    SOLD OUT

  • Shoestring says:

    sold out

  • Arnaud Amiel says:

Thanks for the heads up. Living in Woking with a little boy who will just have been celebrating his birthday, this is perfect.
    Luckily, I booked early enough.

  • Peter K says:

Thanks for that Rob. Looking forward to it.
