UPDATE – APRIL 2024:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.  Thank you.

Welcome to our regular round-up of the best hotel promotions currently running.

Apologies for running this a little later than usual for June.  I was expected a new Marriott Bonvoy promotion to launch – the old one ended on 4th June – but nothing has happened so far.  I eventually gave up waiting because the Accor offer requires you to book by tomorrow.

All of the information in this article can also be found on our ‘Hotel Offers’ page which contains details of all of the current offers, together with links to our major articles on each hotel scheme.  However, a positive response from readers – especially our 13,800 email subscribers – means I am now running this monthly article as a handy summary of what is going on.

If you’d rather not spend cash on your next stay, this article looks at how to use Avios points to book hotel rooms.

Where should you credit your stays in June?

This is what you have to choose from:

IHG‘s Accelerate, which started on 1st May, has personalised targets so it is impossible to tell if yours are worth doing or not.  In general, they are NOT hugely generous this time.  Many people are also having trouble signing up.

Hilton‘s new Go More Get More offer, which started yesterday, is the easiest – double base points per stay, starting on your 2nd stay, plus additional bonuses for hitting 10, 15 and 20 stays by 8th September

Accor has two offers – a Europe / Africa / Middle East offer of 2x, 3x or 4x points on one stay only, with the bonus depending on which month you stay (4x is August) – and an Avios offer worth up to 4x miles

Radisson is offering 3,000 bonus points per night, worldwide.  I would value these at £9 which means you are getting a good return, especially at low cost hotels.

The schemes to avoid if you are seeking bonus points at the moment are Marriott Bonvoy and World of Hyatt which are not offering any global promotion at present.

IHG Rewards Club current promotion

IHG (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental, Indigo, Staybridge Suites etc)

IHG is running another version of its Accelerate promotion. It runs from 1st May to 31st August.

Everyone has personalised targets which, in general, are the least generous we have seen for a while.  This is my article on the offer.  You can register on the IHG site here.

Here is a typical set of targets for this round:

10,000 bonus points for staying five nights

14,400 bonus points for staying at three different IHG brands

2,800 points for staying at two different IHG hotels

4,500 bonus points for booking one ‘points and cash’ stay

5,600 bonus points for 2 x 2-night weekend stays (Saturday plus another night)

Unusually, there was no additional bonus for me for completing all or most of the separate targets.  If you are being smart you could hit the first three targets with just three stays which totalled five nights.

Take a look at what you’ve been offered.  You need to register for Acceleratethe link is here where you will also find your personalised targets.  The IHG home page is here.

Hilton (Hampton, Conrad, Waldorf-Astoria etc)

Hilton has a Summer offer called ‘Go More, Get More’.  You can register here.  Our full article on Go More, Get More is here.

You will earn DOUBLE Hilton Honors base points for every stay between 6th May and 8th September, starting with your second stay.

For most brands, you will earn 10 base points per $1 spent, plus an additional 10 promotional points plus any status bonus.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your spending here.  20 points per $1 is an 8.5% rebate and that is before you add in any status bonus.  There are also additional targets for heavy stayers:

10,000 bonus points after 10 stays

+ a further 15,000 bonus points after 15 stays (total of 25,000)

+ a further 20,000 bonus points after 20 stays (total of 45,000)

I would value 45,000 points at £150, so you’re getting an extra £7+ of points per stay if you manage to hit 20 stays.  You have until 8th September, so for regular business travellers it may be achievable.

There is no cap to what you can earn. The only snag is that you only earn double points from your SECOND stay after 6th May.

You need to register in advance via the Hilton website hereExisting bookings count, there is no minimum stay rule and all Hilton Honors hotels are taking part.

Hilton is still status matching too.  If you have status with another hotel programme, Hilton will match you to Gold or Diamond for 90 days – I explain how to do get a Hilton status match in this article.

The Hilton booking page is here.

Le Club AccorHotels

Le Club AccorHotels, which covers Novotel / Ibis / Mercure / M Gallery / Sofitel / Pullman / Raffles / Swissotel / Fairmont etc, has no global promotion at the moment.

There is one niche Avios offer, however, which requires booking by tomorrow.  No registration is required.

For ALL stays taken by 15th July, and booked by 15th June, you receive:

  • DOUBLE Avios for stays of 1 or 2 nights
  • TRIPLE Avios for stays of 3 nights
  • QUADRUPLE Avios for stays of 4+ nights

Full details of the Avios offer are in this article.  You need to credit your stays to Iberia Plus and not British Airways Executive Club – the article explains why.

Marriott Bonvoy (Renaissance, The Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, Westin, W, Aloft, St Regis, Luxury Collection, Moxy etc)

Marriott Bonvoy is not running a global promotion at present.

Radisson Rewards (Radisson Blu, Park Inn, Park Plaza, Radisson Red)

Radisson Rewards is offering a generous 3,000 bonus points per night with its new offer.

Called ‘Discover More Staying Power’, it is valid for stays worldwide between 27th May and 31st August.  Participating brands are Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson,

You will earn 3,000 bonus Radisson Rewards points per NIGHT, starting with your 2nd stay during the promotional period.

I tend to value a Radisson Rewards point at 0.3p.  This means that you are getting £9 of bonus points per night.  This is a very good return, especially at cheap Park Inn hotels.

You MUST register in advance for this offer by clicking here.  Existing bookings count.  Reward nights and, importantly, ‘points & cash’ bookings do not count.  As usual, stays booked via third parties such as Expedia will not count.

Be careful with the ‘starting with your 2nd stay’ rule.  If you were going to spend 7-10 days in a Radisson Rewards hotel it might be worth seeking out a cheap Park Inn somewhere to sneak in a mattress run night before that.

World of Hyatt

World of Hyatt is running a ‘per night’ bonus promotion valid across all of its brands.

And finally …..

If you booking a luxury hotel, remember that we can offer you exclusive additional benefits at Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula and similar hotels.  Click here for details of our luxury hotel booking service in association with Bon Vivant / Virtuoso.  Feedback from readers who have used this service so far has been excellent and we have booked almost £1m of rooms so far.

  • BJ says:

Arguably the best hotel promotion at the moment is *Gold via IHG/ANA.

    • John says:

Hi BJ did you receive the email for this or did you register via someone else’s link? Has your ana account upgraded already?

      • BJ says:

John, I’m quite certain I was emailed about this either by IHG or ANA but I ignored it and now cannot find it. Had other emails from IHG about status so may have confused it with that. On the road all day today so will explore more later and try registering even if I cannot find the email.

If you are same guy who stays at Hilton a lot and we discussed BKK properties a few months back, I finally got to try DT Sukhumvit last week. I really disliked it, it felt very dark and depressing for a hotel in the tropics and the pool was much too low. Just FYI, it has now increased to 30k, WA from 70k to 80k I think, and looks like Hilton Sukhumvit is possibly now capped at 40k given dates I checked were all over 30k. The new DT is apparently a refurb of Majestic Grand so a good location, I guess it’ll be capped at 30k or 40k.

    • Jtz says:

Tried it and it didn’t work for me, would be so good with flights coming up in August.

  • Freddy says:

I received a Marriott promotion the other day of 7500 bonus points for one stay and a further 15000 points for the 2nd stay so may be worth double checking individual accounts

    • Ken says:

      +1
A fabulous offer. Need to opt in within 3 weeks of email and complete by end August

    • John says:

+1 Marriott seems to be sending targeted promotions. I for one have been offered double points on any stay that includes a Fri/Sat night booked and completed before 31-Aug!

  • TripRep says:

Just confirming my stays on my mini tour of a wet & windy northern England at Hilton DTs earlier this week triggered the 3x bonus on my first stay and then the 2x bonus for my second stay.

Here’s the HFP link to the triple bonus which Rob might have decided to not include in this article as it was originally targeted (but as you see worked perfectly for me)
    https://headforpoints.com/2019/05/08/triple-hilton-points/

    • Rob says:

Seems not to work now, which is why I left it out.

      • TripRep says:

Weird, I signed up a couple of weeks ago and wasn’t targeted, early bird….

      • EwanG says:

Worked for me just now, using lthe link in the earlier article to register.

  • JoshO says:

Do bonuses only trigger for paid cash stays? (As opposed to using points)
    Many thanks!

    • TripRep says:

These specific HH bonuses are multipliers on the base points earned from a cash stay.

My £57 stay with X3 earnt an extra bonus of 1218 on top of the base 609 points

My £90 stay (plus an additional £32 dinner) with X2 bonus earnt 1294 on top of the 1294 base points.

Base points are calculated for USD equivalent after taxes IIRC.

    • John says:

Occasionally Hiltons will make a mistake and you will get points on an award stay, but you shouldn’t be getting any apart from myway points (and incidentals at some brands). If you do get base points from an award stay then you will also get the bonuses. But award stays count for the total number of stays to reach the 10/15/20 milestones.

  • John says:

Need some hotels for my SWISS J £999 trip to HKG in October. I have never stayed in a hotel in Hong Kong before, because I have a flat there, but we now have a baby and there is not enough space for all the occupants. Which means we need a big room.

Am Hilton D so will probably book Conrad for the days it is cheap, but the price is ridiculous for the rest of the dates.

Am also IHG Spire and no status with Accor or Starriott, however not too concerned about benefits as will probably be meeting people for every meal and can’t rely on being upgraded. I guess my dilemma is whether there will be an upcoming promo covering October stays vs prices increasing by the time the promos come, does anyone have any predictions based on previous years?

Any other thoughts, besides going with hotels.com

  • nwoody2001 says:

Hi guys, hoping you can help me…

With the whole changes of Amex and having a decent stack of Avios and Virgin Miles, im looking for other ways to spend my time and money at the moment. This has bought me to IHG.

I have just signed up to my first Accelerate plan… as part of it, they offer me:

    – Stay in 2 brands = 12,000 points
    – Stay 2x 2 night weekend stays (incl. Saturday) = 8,000 points
    – Book a stay on the app = 4,000 points
    – Book 2x Bonus Point Packages = 6,600 points
    – Achieve all of the above = 15,300 points
    Total = 45,900 points

based on the above, can 2 birds be hit with one stone? In other words, is it possible to het the above target in 2x 2night stays so long as:

    – they are 2 weekends including a sat
    – involve 2 brands
    – are booked under 2 Bonus Point Packages, and
    – are booked on the app?

or do all of the above targets need to be undertaken in separate stays? also do you get the normal baseline points in addition to the above bonuses?

    Cheers in advance…
    Neil

    • TGLoyalty says:

Yes for 100% cash stays you can hit two birds with one stone as you say. Usually just have to look out for ones which are for rewards stays like points & cash as these will usually only trigger that specific target.

  • Derek Beech says:

Have been a dormant user of IHG for a few years and last period was oddly able to achieve 3/4 of my targets… this period I have not been offered a variety of targets but simply double points from 2nd stay (max 40k).. is this a common target?

    • Adam says:

Yes, probably a quater of people got it. Judging by flyertalk discussion.
