    Sorry, off topic.

How do I go about booking first class flights, starting in Inverness, using avios? Is it by phonecall….?

    • TripRep says:

Book outbound online, do a dummy booking on a NYC route (high availability) to test.

Phone for the return. I’m doing an open jaw from INV next month

Are you needing to do 355 days out? ie up at midnight etc.?

      • David Cumming says:

thanks – no it’s just a holiday for four of us, and i think we’ll save £600 after flights up there if we go from INV.

    • Rob says:

Look for the long hauls first (don’t serve from Inverness) and when you’ve found those, look for the connections separately. Then try to get ba.com to let you do it in one booking, and if not call them. Remember that any stop over 24 hours in London triggers full APD.

  • Waddle says:

Don’t know if it is for everyone but I have a buy HHonors offer. 100% bonus when I buy 10,000 to 160,000 points expires 22 October. Price is also fixed at every level so 1c per point without bonus, 0.5c with. Pound is currently strong-ish so works out at 0.38p per point.

  • Katy says:

OT but not sure what forum you access for advice. I have just been told by Bonvoy that if my travel agent uses their corporate card to book my stay directly with the hotel (no third party company used such as Expedia etc) and even if the stay is settled against that card on check out, I am not eligible to earn points for the stay?! I have never had this before and it has always been fine as long as the booking is made directly with the hotel. Any experience or advice?

    • Rob says:

Most hotel schemes do say that you must use a credit card in your name for payment, but this usually means that a stay sent to a centralised billing department will not count. The bulk of any hotels daily stays will be settled on corporate credit cards.

      • Katy says:

Thanks Rob, it’s always been fine before but randomly one stay has been rejected. That’s scuppered my Bonvoy status match plans!

  • r* says:

Does the longhaul swiss/lufthansa business flights from italy actually end today as listed?

The website says This offer is valid until 03.11.2019?
