Get two nights for the price of one at IHG hotels in UK and Europe – stay by April

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

IHG, which owns the InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo and various other brands, has launched a generous ‘two nights for the price of one’ offer across Europe.

This 241 deal is called ‘More to See’.

What is especially good about this offer is that it is valid for stays up to 30th April 2021.

What is not so good is that stays booked under this offer are non-refundable unless – presumably – the hotel itself is closed.  The ‘two for one’ price is also driven off the Best Flexible Rate, so it is not a genuine ‘two for one’ offer as cheaper rates are available.

You can find full details on the IHG website here.

How does IHG’s ‘More to See’ deal work?

Here are the rules:

You must book between 3rd August and 24th August

You must stay between 4th August and 30th April 2021

You must book for two nights (longer stays must be booked as back-to-back chunks of two nights)

The price per night will be 50% of the Best Flexible Rate

You must pay in advance and the rate is non-refundable

You WILL earn IHG Rewards Club points and elite night credit

IHG More to See offer

Are there decent deals under this rate?

Yes, without a doubt, but not strictly ‘241’.

I looked at InterContinental Porto, pictured above and which was my last IHG stay (I reviewed InterContinental Porto here), for a weekend in October.

A Duplex Suite under this offer is €217 per night.

The next cheapest rate is €326 per night, so you are making a large saving.  However, this ‘Advance Saver’ rate is cancellable up to 14 days before arrival.  The question is therefore whether you are happy saving €109 per night whilst giving up some flexibility.

Of course, if you were planning to travel in the next couple of weeks, the risk profile is different to booking a few months in advance.

Don’t forget IHG’s ‘4x’ promotion either

For stays up to 8th September, your booking will also qualify for the IHG Rewards Club ‘4x’ promotion.

This offers:

Double base points on your first and second stays after registration

Triple base points on your 3rd stay

Quadruple base points on your 4th stay

There are some bargains to be had – the Indigo in Newcastle is under £50 per night as is a family room at the CP Stratford Upon Avon (the Indigo there doesn’t seem to be participating). Oddly, if you search for more than 2 people at the CP it comes up with no availability, but if you search for 2, rooms with extra beds show as available.

Kimpton Fitzroy is coming out £144 pn night in March which sounds good value for a hotel of that calibre in London.

      • Harry T says:

        Similar rates for Kimpton Edinburgh!

If you’re coming to Newcastle, make sure you wave in our general direction 😂

Just found 79 quid for two nights at the Hotel Indigo in Edinburgh (a perfectly decent hotel) in a couple of weeks which is a bit of a bargain. I’d be tempted but just booked the Waldorf for one night on the Hilton frontline workers deal

    • Lady London says:

You’re pointing out something interesting there @Anna. I’ve also found occasionally on OTA booking engines that a rate wont come up / available room won’t show if I search for 1 person occupancy but it will show up if I switch to searching for 2 person occupancy.

just looking around the app, when you get shown a price to pay and also estimate of points to be earned, it’s shows a massive amount in the base points. for example 6 night stay in london 33500 base points and cost 425 pounds. seems very generous?

  • Lady London says:

Did anyone else see in the t’s and c’s that while it’s not refundable, you can change dates a day ahead (which given some IHG odd rules, I would operate as 2 days ahead). So it looks like you would pay the difference at the time, but not lose your original money if prices hadnt got ridiculous at the time.

I needed to re-arrange a weekend away later this month – got 2 rooms for 2 nights at the Indigo in Newcastle for £184.

  • Hugh Jardon says:

Ah, Newcastle! a quintessential throbbing hub of the North east, ethereal Lindisfarne, the city formerly part of the ancient county of Northumberland , Wallsend the end of a mighty Roman defensive wall, a place to sate ones wanderlust, imagining our roman forefathers hunkered down against the biting wind whipping across the North sea, Newcastle culinary home of the Stottie and beloved of such luminaries as Sir John Hall, Chas Chandler, Gazza, Ant and Dec, Sting, and that bloke off Match of the Day.

  • Aston100 says:

I’ve changed my booking from a holiday inn to a Hotel Indigo for a pound less.

  • Gary says:

I suppose there’s nothing to stop one from booking multiples of 2 nights back-to-back? Can’t seem to see anything in the T&Cs

  • Lucas van den Bogaerde says:

It would have been nice if IHG had made a list of which hotels are participating in the UK at least.
None of the hotels I have tried to book in the Lake District/Yorkshire Dales for September dates seem to offer this deal. In fact, all dates from yesterday till well in 2021 are crossed out! Brexit?????

    • Jason Cousins says:

I’ve found exactly the same problem. Booking for Liverpool came up with the same result of ‘No Availability for the dates shown’ through to 2021.
(Both Liverpool UK and in Liverpool Syracuse in USA!!)
