Your 500 Avios from Nectar should have posted

If you took part in the Avios / Nectar launch promotion, take a look at your British Airways Executive Club account.

Avios was offering a bonus of 500 points if you transferred 1,600 Nectar points into Avios. These have now arrived, at least for me.

You will NOT receive the bonus if you moved 1,000 Avios to Nectar and immediately moved them back again. I’m surprised to see that BA’s IT was up to spotting that, but it did.

Triggering this bonus also triggered double base Nectar points on your shopping at Sainsbury’s up to 19th April. These points are not meant to arrive until 28 days after the end of the offer, so you should expect them in mid May.

If you are not up to speed with the new Avios / Nectar partnership, we have created a new HfP category for the articles. You can see them all by clicking here or by selecting ‘Sainsbury’s and Nectar’ from the categories menu which appears on every article page in the right-hand sidebar on the desktop site.

Online transfers between Avios and Nectar remain suspended whilst site security, including 2FA, is beefed up.

  • Roselin says:

None of the offers you listed has posted for me unfortunately! Maybe ordered from laithwaites one too many!

  • Stu says:

My Amex offers are a mixture of the same staid and totally inappropriate to me merchants that have been popping up on and off for the past 18+ months. The only offer I’ve been able to make use of in that time is ‘shop small’ and even then to a only limited extent.

I wonder if spending circa £40K annually on my card is driving the offers away on the basis I’m spending anyway so they don’t need to motivate me to spend?

    • Andrew says:

The offers are basically marketing by those companies to try and get you to spend with them, not Amex trying to motivate you to generally spend, so your overall spending wouldn’t affect the offers.

  • Ian says:

No Laithwaites for my wife or I. As we have used them in the past every time they were offered surprised not there today

  • Fede says:

Moved Avios to nectar on the Sunday before the launch and then moved them back to Avios on the Monday and have got my bonus still.. since then I have haven’t moved any Avios back to nectar and spent lots of money at Sainsbury’s

  • Baresi says:

No offers on my card 😢, but did receive the 500 bonus Avios ✌️

  • Stuart says:

Did anyone take up the Disney annual subscription and if so, have your points posted? In the BA shopping portal I can see my visit was tracked but no points are showing

  • Nori says:

No 500 Avios bonus showing on BA.
Converted 5k Avios BA to Nectar on 24 Jan ( a day before the promo kicks in) and then 1,600 Nectar (1k Avios) to BA on 30 Jan.
Maybe they’re incorrectly counting the 24th Jan as within the promo period. Not sure if it’s worth chasing them for 500 Avios.

    • Andrew says:

Yes I think all of us that did this method didn’t get the 500. Guess their IT was better than we thought!

      • Nori says:

Lol. Thanks Andrew. It was worth a try.
I did get the a 1k Nectar “juicy points boost” just by clicking in the app a month ago so can’t complain really.

  • lumma says:

On my Nectar account I’ve got a “Sainsbury’s Bank Double Pts Offer +146 points” showing.

I’m guessing maybe due to the pet insurance as they’ve just taken the first payment
