As a reminder, here are some example holiday packages which are available in the sale.

The key thing to know about British Airways Holidays is that booking a flight and hotel, or flight and car hire, together can offer better value than booking each element separately.

How to book

You can book these fares and holiday packages on the BA website here.

To maximise your miles when paying, your best bet is the British Airways American Express Premium Plus card which earns double Avios (3 per £1) when you book at ba.com or via BA Holidays.  You do not get double Avios if you book with the free British Airways American Express card.

Another option is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold which offers double points – 2 per £1 – when you book flight tickets directly with an airline.

  • James says:

I booked a holiday last week but now notice the same holiday is £300 cheaper. Can I cancel my first holiday and rebook at the new price without losing any money? Thanks.

    • Jonathan says:

Yes, call up & they should be able to do it in one go on the phone. Worst case they turn your deposit into a voucher then start a new booking using that.

    • Number9 says:

I’ve just checked my holiday I booked last week after reading your comment and mine is £203 cheaper. I’ll phone up and ask see what they say.

    • WaynedP says:

Made me double check the price of the CE Greek Island late Sept BA holiday I booked for Mrs dP and me as a “long shot” in early Feb, in the hope that price might be lower to consider cancelling and re-booking.

Turns out it’ll cost £390 more for the two of us to book now, even after the new BA discount.

Perhaps I bagged a bargain after all.

  • Pj says:

I am looking to buy flights with a hotel for part of the time away ( one week out of three away). Can I book this under a BA holiday umbrella with the added benefit of deposit only payment etc?

  • John says:

The website states you can change dates up to 3 weeks before departure. What if I test positive before departure and am unable to travel – would that mean I would lose the money? Thanks!

    • Number9 says:

I’m thinking that’s what travel insurance is for.

    • ChrisC says:

They were good with me last October but they could have changed their policy since then.

The pre flight email said something like ‘don’t fly if you are unwell and contact us’

So I did ( I had to isolate awaiting a test result it was the first thing I did after ordering the test!) and they gave me a BWC voucher for the full value of the trip but that was because the hotel booking was either fully refundable in the first place or the hotel were willing to refund it.

Call as soon as you know though and discuss your options.

  • Isobel Brown says:

I have a week in the Caribbean booked for October. With the new ‘improved’ sale it would cost £1k more than my current booking. Got a bargain!

    • Number9 says:

I have to say the holiday I booked last week I already thought I got a bargain. Normally the cost of flights would have been more than the flights and hotel I booked.
If anyone interested the Waldorf on the Palm Dubai is doing free HB when booked through BAH.

      • Manya says:

Any specific dates where the price is appealing?

        • Number9 says:

I’ve booked 14/1 to 22/1 next year that’s arrive on the 15/1 7 nights hotel. Discount on hotel 25% and a further 5% and HB offer. For 2 adults 1 child club seats in a Pearl club room £ 6178 today it’s £5976 but It could have gone the other way so on reflection I’ll leave my booking alone.

          • Manya says:

Thanks. With two young kids Dubai is always a good option for our family as well.

          • Number9 says:

@manya … I originally wanted to go to Waldorf in Ras as I really like that hotel but I couldn’t get anywhere near the price. We just want to go for a rest so don’t mind being out on the Palm.

      • Amo says:

I was looking at the Waldorf. What’s ‘HB’?

    • jj says:

And the brace of first class tickets that I bagged in the last sale for a Jan 22 ski trip are nearly £5K more expensive in this sale. Always grab a bargain when you see it…

  • mo fauz says:

if i book an economy flight plus hotel on the sale, can i then upgrade flights to business with avios?

  • caroline says:

How do you qualify for the extra HfP discount. I followed the link above but the pricing is the same as if just booked via ba.com thanks
