Hilton’s Tapestry Collection brand will soon get its first hotel in the UK.

The Samuel Ryder Hotel in St Albans will be a rebranding of the existing Clarion Collection Hotel St Albans, which going back even further was a Choice Hotel.

Tapestry Collection is similar to Hilton’s Curio Collection, but is aimed at smaller hotels in smaller towns. We covered the recent opening of a 46-room Madrid hotel – the first Tapesty Collection hotel in Europe. Samuel Ryder is of a similar scale with 60 rooms.

To quote the website:

“This grade II listed St Albans landmark building was built in 1911 by Samuel Ryder, donor of golf’s prestigious Ryder Cup, to house the business of his successful seed company. It retains many original features including leaded light room screens, sweeping staircase and a magnificent mahogany and stained glass dome.”

The date for the switch is not yet known and the hotel is not yet bookable on hilton.com.

Every time I try and register for the Accor offer it says there is a technical problem and to refresh the page and try again. Anyone else having difficulties?

    • Guernsey Globetrotter says:

Worked fine for me just now (via Chrome in Windows 10 on a PC).

    • Lady London says:

Call them your account has probably been disabled due to some random stupid security rubbish Accor did some time ago now. This is the usual symptom.

Midpoint: 07:43 Fri June 25, day of your article:: 1,000 GBP = AUD 1,815 with Midpoint. AUD 1,826 with wise.com

  • Catman99 says:

I get IHG points with Wise as they allow you to fund the transfer with a credit card although you pay a slightly higher fee of an extra £3 per £1K

    • BuildBackBetter says:

Are there no charges on your card?

      • Catman99 says:

Greggs app has updated, removing the PayPal (and therefore Amex) option.

    • BlueThroughCrimp says:

Cancel that. Amex on Apple Pay seems to work. Phew!

  • Bagoly says:

Thank you for the heads up.
It would have been even more useful for me if you had published it yesterday!!

  • Ian M says:

Thanks for the heads up about Midpoint, the last offer was great.

  • Nick says:

If I buy an avios ticket rfs from ba .com

And then I decide not to fly- will I lose the rfs fee of £17.50 per person or will they give it back to me in the form of a future travel voucher?

    • AJA says:

If you cancel for a FTV the £17.50 and Avios are included in the voucher. You will have to phone BA to redeem it when you decide where to go and you will need reward seat availability.
