Get a £5 or £10 American Express cashback credit at BP garages

American Express has launched a series of cashback offers with BP garages.

There appears to be two different versions:

  • £10 back on a £30 spend
  • £5 back on a £30 spend
BP American Express cashback

The good news is that, if you have multiple Amex cards, you might find – as I was – that you are targeted for both across different products.

All offers expire on 29th August.

There is a 51-page list of participating garages provided. It isn’t clear if the credit triggers on food or gift card purchases from the shop but I suspect that it will.

so do the BP stores sell branded gift cards? Not a single comment here or other sites confirming whether this can be done?

Anyways- i can’t imagine ever having to go to a garage for petrol again! EV-happy since 2018

    • David says:

I looked for this previously at one in central london, it was a no.

    • Tim says:

You could always stock up on screenwash and travel sweets!

    • Sam says:

I suppose you can use their EV charging stations? I have seen some when I was getting fuel there

  • DTB says:

weirdly my local MFG fueling station is on the approved list from BP within the amex link despite being an ESSO.

  • Justin says:

BP was available on my BAPP yesterday (£10 return) but none of my other cards had this offer (I.e. Plat Rewards, Gold Rewards and Gold Business)!

  • Josh says:

Does anyone know the average time it takes for purchased IHG points to hit your account?

    • Janeyferr says:

      I usually receive them immediately.q

      • Josh says:

3 hours and still nothing 🙁 the email confirmation said that it could take up to days but I thought it would be instant.

        • CarpalTravel says:

The email is the important part. It’s sometimes taken a day or two to appear, I wouldn’t worry.

    • Chas says:

      Mine hit immediately earlier today.

  • kitten says:

I like BP Ultimate diesel. Engine runs smoother, very close to Shell V-Power in benefits. I’m happy to pay the small uplift for that grade. Only problem is, both the BP stations near me have stopped being BP stations in recent years.

  • Simon Sherin says:

Wonder if the BP offer will work on BP Pulse or using at an EV charger

    • Char Char says:

It depends how its currently billed, if its the same as the fuel station then maybe but good luck spending £30 on charging an EV, never seen it done!

      • Char Char says:

Well if you have the £15 offer maybe but I don’t think it will work anyway

        • Simon says:

Not charged outside the house yet! Was thinking could maybe add £30 credit on the app and it might trigger – probably worth a punt anyway as bound to use it at some time

      • TGLoyalty says:

I don’t think it’ll work but you can top up your account £30 and it draws from there

with an 80kwh batt and using a fast 100kwh+ DC charger (they charge 45-70p) you could pay £30+

  • Richmond_Surrey says:

Had BP offer on Bonvoy and Rewards. Saved on 3 cards total and going to use it. I have alert for Amex on Hot UK Deals, so I don’t miss a deal.

  • Thomas says:

Who still buys fuel? That’s so 2010.
5p overnight electricity charges my car ready for the morning 🙂

    • mark2 says:

At the moment until lots of people stop buying petrol/derv and the govt misses the tax.
How have you amortised the enormous extra cost of an EV?

      • Jonathan says:

Salary sacrifice with 1% BIK = 41% saving on gross lease cost. Driving an £85k car for £400 net including servicing, tyres, insurance etc. Would be lucky to get a £30k hatchback at that monthly cost!
