Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Get up to 3,500 Avios with £100 spend at The Wine Flyer

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The Wine Flyer is the new British Airways wine ordering portal.

It’s an interesting business and an intriguing diversion by IAG Loyalty. British Airways partnered with Laithwaites for many years to offer wine to Executive Club members, but IAG Loyalty has now become a retailer itself.

If you haven’t given it a try yet, there are two special offers running which can be combined.

Earn 3500 Avios with The Wine Flyer

On The Wine Flyer website, you will see that you will receive 1,500 bonus Avios on any order of £100+.

You need to order by 7th April.

There is also a 15% discount on cases of 12 bottles.

An extra bonus for British Airways American Express cardholders

If you have a British Airways American Express card, there is a second offer for paying with your card. Most (but not all, see the comments below) will have this.

You will receive 2,000 Avios when you spend £80 at The Wine Flyer by 16th April.

As usual with American Express cardholder offers, you need to register for the offer in the ‘Offers’ section of your British Airways American Express statement page, either online or in the Amex app.

These two deals will combine without any problems, allowing you to earn 3,500 Avios on a £100+ wine purchase from The Wine Flyer this Easter.

Thanks to John for flagging this in our comments yesterday.

PS. Comments below suggest code EASTER10 will knock off a further 10%

I ordered the 1 x Case of the Month Twelve at £142.99 with the EASTER10 code, it was £128, so just over free delivery amount.

    Plus 715 avios immediately credited
1.5 avios per £ on AMEX (192 avios)
    2,000 on AMEX offer
and £1,500 plus another 15% on website offer

So, 4,407 avios and cost of about £109, or £9 per bottle for decent wine

I might not have got all of that right, but that seems a pretty good deal

  • Philondon says:

This article should be called “Up to 3500 Avios” no offer on my Amex.

  • GR8PA says:

(Apart from the arguable value of the wine prices) I too don’t have the offer showing in my App. AMEX’s chatbot says words to the effect of ” you are offered offers according to spending pattern” etc. Not much use when they’re about to expire!

  • NorthernLass says:

Offer was on OH’s BAPP but not mine, so maybe they go off drinking patterns 😂
Ordered 12 bottles of Malbec for £120 inc. P & P, should pair nicely with roast lamb on Easter Sunday.

  • Stu_N says:

The mid-range wines (say £10 – £30) seem decent value especially with the Avios kicker but the fine wine pricing is ludicrous.

e.g. £255 for one bottle of Ch Batailley 2014 when BBR will do you 6 in bond for similar money. Caveat emptor!

  • Nick says:

I can’t seem to get the 15% discount to trigger on 12 bottles no matter how I try (cases of 12, cases without discounts, 12x individual bottles). I’ve even taken them all the way to point of payment.

Any ideas? I won’t bother with the order unless I can trigger the discount and bonus Avios.

    • NorthernLass says:

On the case I bought the 15% discount was already calculated – I assumed it only applied to certain mixed cases?

  • chris1922 says:

For some reason when I log into WineFlyer, it has my 10 year old son’s details in the account, numerous attempts to correct this haven’t worked. BA’s IT really is awful, it is apparently down to the fact that my son is in our household account, and shares the same email address as me. They also can’t confirm that if I do order, if the Avios will be awarded, and to which account ! Pathetic.

  • Nick says:

Have dug into this further – through trial and error and contacting their customer services. The deal only works on single bottles of wine on the “Easter offers” landing page. Put 12 of these in the basket and also stacks with EASTER10. Disappointingly it doesn’t work on the trio of Italian reds (x4 to make a case of 12) and other similar multi-wine deals for example despite them claiming it should apply to everything in the offers sections!
