Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Get up to 3,500 Avios with £100 spend at The Wine Flyer

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The Wine Flyer is the new British Airways wine ordering portal.

It’s an interesting business and an intriguing diversion by IAG Loyalty. British Airways partnered with Laithwaites for many years to offer wine to Executive Club members, but IAG Loyalty has now become a retailer itself.

If you haven’t given it a try yet, there are two special offers running which can be combined.

Earn 3500 Avios with The Wine Flyer

On The Wine Flyer website, you will see that you will receive 1,500 bonus Avios on any order of £100+.

You need to order by 7th April.

There is also a 15% discount on cases of 12 bottles.

An extra bonus for British Airways American Express cardholders

If you have a British Airways American Express card, there is a second offer for paying with your card. Most (but not all, see the comments below) will have this.

You will receive 2,000 Avios when you spend £80 at The Wine Flyer by 16th April.

As usual with American Express cardholder offers, you need to register for the offer in the ‘Offers’ section of your British Airways American Express statement page, either online or in the Amex app.

These two deals will combine without any problems, allowing you to earn 3,500 Avios on a £100+ wine purchase from The Wine Flyer this Easter.

Thanks to John for flagging this in our comments yesterday.

PS. Comments below suggest code EASTER10 will knock off a further 10%

  • FFoxSake says:

    Swings and roundabouts…
For EVERY trio of Italian Reds you add you will get 580 Avios, so 4 x 580 = 2320.
    That’s probably better than the 12 x 60 = 720 Avios for full-price singles with a 15% discount.

  • Nick says:

I went for 12x Bottles of Borgo del Col Alto Prosecco NV – £167.88

15% discount – knocked off £31.82 (actually close to 19% discount, I am not going to argue)
    10% discount with EASTER10 – knocked off a further £16.79
Total comes in at £119.27 and 960 Avios. (Plus hopefully the 2000 off Amex and 1500 from BA to credit later).

I threw in a bottle of red to tip it over £125 for free shipping. Thats the Wedding fizz sorted 😛

  • Nick says:

I’ll just add that Wine Flyer have said they are investigating that the Trio of wine collections in ‘Easter Offers’ are not correctly triggering the 15% off and have acknowledged that customers are having technical issues…

  • Dace says:

Talking of wine. I was able to combine a number of deals at Laithwaites. I got 6000 Nectar points, £50 back from Amex and then combined the first purchase 30% discount with a 20% off subscription. I end up with three cases of wine for the equivalent of £56, since I put £30 value on the Nectar points.

  • GR8PA says:

Further to some AMEX cardholders not seeing this offer in the App…
Had a long chat with AMEX support, and it seems that this, and in fact any offer, is not loaded by default to all cardholders!!
Whether you see it depends on “various factors” like spend pattern, time you’ve had the card, etc. but not Location (which I usually have turned off).

    • Chas says:

Exactly the same as it always has been. It’s why HfP never says that you will have this offer, only that you may….

    • Philondon says:

I disagree that Amex base offers on spending pattern. Most of mine are high spend at expensive restaurants and hotels which is not my spending pattern at all.

      • NorthernLass says:

I keep getting the Co-op will writing offer which is slightly alarming!

        • Philondon says:

Haha! Me too! Maybe it’s all the weekend Wetherspoon’s breakfasts I’ve been putting on my Amex recently!

  • Steve Williams says:

I collected 5 avios per £ spent, applied the Easter code 10% off , paid on BA Amex and got 1350 for the actual wine ordered then 1500 bonus so ended up with 3400 avios for a wine order of just over £100! Great deal for a dozen bottles of decent wine

  • DavidV says:

So they’re trying to replicate what other airlines, eg Qantas, did many years ago?

  • shadow G says:

If u just want minimize the spending, add 3 trio set into busket (Pinot Noir Selection,Pinot Grigio Collection,French Provençal Inspired Rose Collection).

Works out £106.66 with 2090 avios collected, plus AMEX 2000 avios and 1500 avios from wine flyer, total 5590 avios. and u get 3 red, 3 white, 3 rose, most from old world(8 in 9).
