Current American Express cashback offers

It’s also worth noting the current American Express cashback offers with the big chains. These may be showing on one or more of your cards and may influence which hotels you book this month:

Away from the big chains, the ‘best of the rest’ includes:

In most cases, you are restricted to a list of participating European hotels.

Where should you credit your stays for June 2023?

Remember that, irrespective of the offers below, there is never a single ‘best’ offer.

Some offers require multiple stays to maximise the bonus, which you might not do. Some require stays to be a minimum number of nights before a bonus is earned.

You need to factor in any elite status you have, which will earn you additional status bonuses.

More importantly, you need to be able to use the points. There is no value in earning a large bonus in a scheme where you will never go on to earn enough points to get a free night.

There are currently no global offers from:

  • Accor Live Limitless
  • Marriott Bonvoy
  • Radisson Rewards
  • World of Hyatt

Hilton (Hampton, Conrad, Waldorf-Astoria etc)

Hilton is currently running a promotion called ‘Resort To More Points’.

You can register here.  Our full article is here. It runs until 5th September.

You will earn 2,000 bonus points on all stays, increased to 4,000 points at selected resorts. We value 2,000 Hilton points at £6.66.

You need to register in advance of your first stay during the period via the Hilton website here.  Existing bookings count and all Hilton Honors hotels are taking part.

The Hilton booking page is here.

IHG One Rewards new offers

IHG (InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo etc)

Between 6th June – so it hasn’t started yet – and 31st August, you can earn bonus base points on your IHG One Rewards stays.

You must register in advance via this link.

There are two offers to choose from:

  • you will receive 2,000 bonus points for every two nights you stay
  • you will receive 10,000 bonus points for every four nights you stay

In both cases, the nights do NOT need to be consecutive.

The second option will be more lucrative for virtually everyone unless you are confident that you won’t do more than two paid nights at IHG hotels before the end of August. You cannot change your decision once made.

In terms of counting ‘nights’, reward nights do not count. This is different from the way that IHG usually counts ‘nights’ in terms of earning elite status or milestone rewards.

Existing bookings DO count so there is no need to rebook anything.

Our full article is here. The home page for bookings is here.

And finally …..

  • CD says:

Hilton bonus points offer by 18 July seems to be 80 percent bonus, not 100 percent?? Or did I colicky to the wrong place?

    • Rob says:

Some people get offered a lower one – it is market testing on their part.

  • Robert says:

Trying to find a reasonably priced hotel for the 27th June near St Pancras in the hope of bagging tickets, proving very difficult. Liked the look of the new Hyatt Blackfriars until I seen the £545 rate!

    • Rob says:

Basically the only nights you can do social events in London now are Tuesday and Wednesday. No-one is in on Mon and Fri and on Thursday most people are heading off for a long weekend or to their second homes, working remotely on the Friday. This puts a huge amount of pressure on hotel rooms for those two nights.

      • Robert says:

Thanks that makes sense, will either do the RCGP Euston hotel or head straight to T5 Sofitel for first flight out on 28th

    • pauldb says:

You could probably be at the Hampton Luton Airport as quickly as the Blackfriars. 😀

    • TGLoyalty says:

Milton Keynes is a genuine option. 30 mins from Euston.
