Earlier this week we told you that the Daily Mail is ending its relationship with Nectar.

You will no longer be able to collect points by submitting codes from printed copies of the newspaper as of 14th September. Anyone with a digital or printed subscription can continue to collect until the end of November.

It seems that the Mail has a few Nectar points to use up, because it has launched a decent subscription offer.

Daily Mail subscription offer

For £20, you will receive a one year digital subscription to the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, plus 4,000 Nectar points.

4,000 Nectar points converts into 2,500 Avios, so you are getting 2,500 Avios for £20.

(If you drink Caffe Nero coffee, you’re getting 11 drinks @ 350 points each for £20!)

The only snag is that your subscription will auto-renew after one year at the full price of £120. You will need to cancel it before that point, and looking at the T&C this is only possible by telephone. It could be a little expensive if you forget.

Daily Mail Nectar offer

This offer is definitely not targeted. If you go to themailsubscriptions.co.uk you will see it come up.

Anyone who remembers the Mail subscription deal of a couple of years ago which was targeted – and led to everyone who wasn’t targeted getting their subscription cancelled – can rest easy.

In a bad piece of UX, you need to input your credit card details before you see the screenshot above which confirms the offer. You can still back out at this point though.

Thanks Rob. Got one on a Revolut card and then cancelled the card. It took a bit of hunting to work out where to put Nectar number but found it in the end

  • Michael says:

Just wondering – for anyone that has done this, how do you get the points, I am at the payment page and doesnt ask for anything and there is nothing in the T&C’s I can see through alt/f

  • Ceri says:

How do you get the nectar points. I have bought and received e mail saying I get 4000 points, however there is no where to put my nectar number in? Thanks.

  • Lee says:

This is access to The Mail+, not Daily Mail Online. They are totally separate subscriptions

    • Rob says:

Except that the subscriptions page invites you to log in via your MyMail login …

  • Philondon says:

Don’t forget to “spin the golden wheel” every day to get bonus Nectar points. Click on the app to play instead of getting the unique code from the physical newspaper.

  • Dylan says:

I added my Nectar number to my account after I purchased the subscription. How long is it expected to take for the Nectar points to go into my account?

    • sinc1000 says:

      Dylan

I am the same as you

I joined on the 8th sep and still awaiting my 4,000 nectar points

  • Thea says:

I too signed up with The Mail ( holding my nose) as I wanted the Nectar points but they have yet to appear on my account, despite giving my Nectar card number. When I tried to download the Mail + app using the link from the subscription confirmation, it says ‘ not available in your country’ both on iPad and iPhone. I downloaded the app separately from the App Store and signed in but I see no sign of the Nectar points yet. The point is to boost my Avios before I trigger my BA Amex 2 for1 voucher.

  • Vincent says:

I have just submitted a ticket to query it

I will let you know the response in due course
