Email the hotel regarding linking the reservations. Not sure how FHR credit works at this hotel, but normally valid only on the third day.

Beware that August might be tricky in terms of opening hours in Lyon, especially smaller boutique shops and restaurants, but should be okay overall. If you want to go swimming in the Rhône that is perfect time to go as well so have a look at those options.

I think you can do all main sites in a day and a half, so 3 night will be plentiful.
